So the aussie pair is indeed doing JGP. I wonder if that was the plan all along.

Harley's answer in the ISU interview made it pretty clear it wasn't, that they were aiming for SGP. Stupid ISU changing the rules.

If they do well enough at the JGPs and Nebelhorn, is there a chance they get invited to a GP event? If not, I hope they at least get more fall internationals.

I didn't think you were allowed to do JGP and SGP in the same season.

No :wall: No :wall: No :wall: No :wall: No :wall: No :wall: No :wall:

Great. So they'll turn up in Nebelhorn as Juniors and the international judges will treat them that way. What was already hard has just become even harder. Not only that, but they'll turn up in Nebelhorn to skate a Senior FS that they won't have competed internationally until that point. Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

My level of fcuk you, ISU has risen higher.

I think you are overreacting. Alexandrovskaya/Windsor qualified for the free in one of the deepest fields at a World Championships I've ever seen. The judges like them lots and that is not going to change by September or because they are doing the Junior Grand Prixs again.

If they want to compete at a senior international prior to Nebelhorn that is up to them and the Australian federation to send them to one.

Some interesting things in the international assignments http://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/793a42_9d0917c6488f477380be804a450aacd8.pdf

Looks like Holly is skipping JGP Australia to do ones in Europe as it looks like she's training in the USA and skating at the Philly international. I think that's really nice that she lets the skaters training in Australia get to skate at home where they don't need to fly for a day and she takes the ones in Europe instead.

Matilda/William are skipping the JGP to focus on senior. Makes sense as they are the top ranked dance team according the ranking list. I hope they get to go to the Olympics even if it's only for the team event.

Good luck to Katia/Harley at Nebelhorn, looks like they will only be doing a JGP before it. But they've been to FCC and Worlds so have plenty of senior experience and I hope they will skate well to get a spot.

All the Dodds teams except Paris/Matt seem to have split. Hopefully Paris and Matt get the tiny bit of SP TES they need for FCC. Andrew and Chantelle are not listed for any assignments even though they have the scores to go, so it looks like they split. Andrew is listed for a lot of events for singles instead. I wonder if she'll find a new partner?

Thanks for the link to the international assignments (as of July 15), @sammyf!

The current rankings (as of July 13) are also linked from the same page: http://www.isa.org.au/high-performance-and-athlete-development
C. Kerry/A . Dodds are listed as the 3rd ranked dance team (based on their debut at Hollins Trophy) on page 25: http://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/793a42_3836fb3de92648a38b2a1628bf64d498.pdf

Andrew Dodds tweeted his programs back on June 21: https://twitter.com/Andrew_Dodds/status/877667564830113792

I don't know about this - all of Andrew's social media has been from Sydney in the last few weeks except for a day or two when he was back on the Gold Coast and then today he has an instagram story heading back to Sydney. Why else would he be spending so much time in Sydney except to train with Chantelle?

I am not sure why they're not named for international assignments. Maybe ISA wants to see more of them before they send them out.

Given the amount of hype surrounding their partnership, I hope Chantelle and Andrew haven't chucked it in already. They sounded very promising.

I guess the 2018 Olympic Games are out of the question for them, unless Australia earns a place at Nebelhorn, and it is the nomination (and best international results), versus the team who earned it, which ultimately decides selection.

Otherwise, are there any local competitions for the ISA to assess and consider the team for international selection this season?

An hour ago they just updated the Facebook page with a picture (I think from Hollins) and a joke about synchronisation goals and twizzling through the week.

That's a relief to know they are still training. I think Rotondo and Dodds may have retired, as they are not listed for any of the ISA 2017/18 international assignments.

Ryan's aged out of Juniors now, not sure if Jessica is old enough for Seniors.

Are there tickets for this event, or is it a case of first come first served for entry? (I had a bit of a look around the internet and couldn't find anything about tickets) :)

The rink holds about 400, so you'll need to be quick if it is a first come, first serve policy.

Article on the Celebration Gala for Alexandrovskaya/Windsor: http://www.owia.org/figure-skating-news/celebration-gala-for-junior-world-pair-champs
To celebrate their astounding Championship win, and to unveil their Olympic season program, Windsor and Alexandrovskaya will perform in a Celebration Gala at Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink in Sydney on Saturday, 19 August at 10.30am.
“I’ve only been home for less than two weeks since January and it’s fair to say that I’ve been homesick,” Windsor said. “Katia and I have done a lot of work in the off season learning our new short and free programs.”
“It’s been tough to be away from Australia for so long,” he said. “Canterbury is my home rink and where I trained with Galina and Andrei.”
The general public is invited to see Australia’s Junior World Champions and support them in their quest for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games next February.
Entry is by gold gold donation.

Craine is also on the entry list for the Slovenia Open, Sept. 2-3 in Celje, along with Katie Pasfield.

This recent article about Joanne Carter was posted on the IFS Facebook page.

Good for Jo! She competed internationally in 4 Olympic cycles (like Elena Sokolova) and got to compete at 2 Olympics. I was just rewatching her in 1998 and 2005 the other day.

I wonder what happened with Stephanie Zhang and Cheltzie Lee? They have only competed one or two seasons around the Olympics and then just disappeared.
