ABBA are back!!!!

No comeback would be complete without new music. ‘Voyage’, the album, featuring 10 new songs will be released on 05.11.21. The first two singles from ‘Voyage’ are ‘I Still Have Faith in You’ and 'Don't Shut Me Down' – and both are available to stream right now.

Don't Shut Me Down is an absolute bop which wouldn't sound out of place on ABBA Gold (or perhaps on of the first tracks on More ABBA Gold). I Still Have Faith In You is stunning and the perfect song to acknowledge their 40 year absence from making new music. 40 years!

The girls sound so great and authentic--both songs are true to their sound and DNA as a group. I'm perched for the album.

Very happy for new music, but I hope the rest of the album is better than these two songs. A definite step-down from their last album, The Visitors, which is arguably their best.

I was smiling widely as I watched * I still have faith in you* for the first time. I was just so HAPPY!! It just filled me with such joy. Generations love their music and to see them reunite, after so many years of saying never, is just so uplifting. A bright spot in 2021.

Will Mariah get new ideas for her freeskate?! :yikes::lol:
oooo when will we see virtual competitions? Too bad this news didn't come out last year when skaters had to submit videos :P

I got The Visitors when it came out - but could never tell anyone how much I liked it because it was so uncool. Even more uncool than just liking ABBA as an early-'80s new-waver  The title track is great - and it means something entirely different than I thought it did back then.

What I do know is that all my classmates from 1972 through 1976 (the year my fellow classmates and I graduated and there were exactly 76 of us in the Class of 76 ... bicentennial babies) will be ecstatic about it. We were always singing along with ABBA. We even performed to a couple of songs when I was in the Pep Squad ... we were Dancing Queens! :cheer2:

Yes it's all corny, but we sure loved ABBA! ??

It will be really interesting to see how these concerts with avatars go over. If that format is successful, it opens up a whole new set of possibilities for, um, older artists.

I really, really hope not.

IIRC there have already been a couple of "concerts" with avatars of dead performers, and they didn't get good reviews. This may be different with the motion-capture technology being done on live performers. From the brief glimpses on YouTube IMO it looked relatively convincing, but I'm not sure how many people are going to pay $$$$ to watch it "live".
