She's talked about it in at least two different fluff pieces I've seen from her in the last year and very much presented it as making her unique. Maybe she is unique among figure skaters for playing MTG, but she's in no way unique amongst Gen Zers - it's super-popular with a lot of people her age (my older nephew will be 26 later this year).

I'm actually surprised she filmed herself eating beef. In Japan it's considered bad in some circles to eat beef. Beef has to be clearly marked in restaurants so people who don't want to eat beef won't eat there.

Gah - Amber fluff. I just can't with her whole "I'm sooooo unique because I play Magic: The Gathering"... No, that makes her like a ton of other Gen Zers.

I didn’t know she played MTG - I think it’s neat she’s geeky like that and MTG is easy to pick up but difficult to master. At least from the students I see, Pokemon seems a lot more popular than MTG, so I think Amber’s pretty unique in that and not a trend-chaser
