Their loss.Hordes of Americans loudly leaving the arena before Sakamoto. For shame!
We are too, then.I'm such a sap in my old age. I could feel the tears forming before Kaori started.
Yes, doesn’t US need Chock/Bates and Malinin to do both rounds?Things are awfully tight among the top 6 going into day 2.
x infinity!
This link should work, despite the way it summarizes as being “unavailable."Well, hmph. RD is on replay. Women's is already on replay on Peacock. BUT NO PAIRS!!!! I need to at least see the top three
So I'll watch Gillter and Gold ice dance documentary instead.
That’s so embarrassingThe British Ice Dance judge should be suspended...did anyone see his/her protocols??? Put Fear/Gibson in 2nd and Gillis/Poirier in 6th!! Insane.
He needs to be within 2 places of Kevin to have a tie. Anyone know what happens in that case?Where does Stephen need to place in relation to others in order to make it yo the free?
He needs to finish no worse than 2 places behind Kevin and then hope Canada can win the tiebreaker (France has the advantage due to FBCiz's 2nd place in the RD).Where does Stephen need to place in relation to others in order to make it yo the free?
Apologies if this has been posted somewhere in this thread, but where can we access protocols? I'm only seeing Olympic site event results without details.
From Jackie Wong -He needs to be within 2 places of Kevin to have a tie. Anyone know what happens in that case?
ETA: According to the googles "In Olympic figure skating team events, if two or more teams are tied for placement, the tie is broken first by the highest total segment scores from the team’s best performances in each discipline, and if still tied, by further predefined rules focusing on the highest placements achieved in individual segments."
The details are on the ISU website.... There is a chart floating out there on twitter that show the British Judge's ridiculous scoring.Apologies if this has been posted somewhere in this thread, but where can we access protocols? I'm only seeing Olympic site event results without details.
Right now, Canada holds the tiebreaker by virtue of the sum of their two highest placements - 7+7 = 14 vs France 9+4 = 13; but if Kevin finishes two places higher than Gogolev then he's certainly going to have a high enough finish to bump France's aggregate total higher than Canada, so they have the advantage in the event of an overall points tie.@fan and @ilovesalchows I believe France holds the tiebreaker by virtue of the highest placement (dance - 2nd) vs Canada's highest placement (dance or pairs - 4th)
And better costumes.I wish Kaori had better programs over the last couple of years.
