Carol Lane & Kurt have been less effusive with praise for anyone skating after Piper & Paul. I don't know why I'm ever surprised, her commentary has pissed me off since 2014.

I got the impression that Kurt liked C&B quite a bit more than Carol did but he didn't really want to say. And yes, Carol's commentary sucks big time.

I totally agree. Finally, not "automatic" judging ... maybe the judging panel is actually being fair?

Yeah it seemed like most thought C/B would win the RD and F-B/C would win the FD.

I honestly think Kurt would have been better off commentating this without Carol there. Then they should hire me to announce the skaters so Brenda Irving doesn't keep botching their names because good Lord.

You are right .... I also felt Kurt held back because it was pretty obvious Carol wasnt that keen on C/B, although she couldn't really say why .... other than it didn't feel like a 90s program to her. Whatever. I thought both C/B and FB/C were wonderful and as Chris would say, "there's nothing in it." For all intents and purposes, they are tied. Free dance is going to be exciting!! Oh ... and I have to say "YAY" for Piper and Paul for being 3rd right now. I know that could all change too but a Canuck can hope right?

Re Chock’s dress: her team event version had elements of red white and blue which I assume was intentional for that competition

Ordinarily, I'm team Chock as we're fellow Poodle owners (albeit hers are little and mine is 70 pounds), but he wants to prove something. I'd say odds are almost an even split. I usually find dance boring, but the final group is going to be a real battle.

American here - I say "Yay" for Piper and Paul, as well. I'd love them to get that Bronze. They totally deserve it!

Both massively screwed. Emilia and Vadim should be final group hands down, probably in 4th as wild as that sounds. And I think Lopareva and Brissaud actually make a case for 5th while we’re at it.

In all seriousness that British judge needs booting off the panel. I know lowest scores are tossed out but you can't give G/P 1+ in GOE for a PST4.

I prefer C/B. I will say Z/K won the night for me (and L/B were underscored). I struggled with F-B/C for many reasons (the dress was distracting, the twizzles, and I just didn’t get into the program).

I had to work all afternoon so I'm just now starting the replay, but I'm so excited to watch Z/K. I haven't been this excited about a dance team since H/D teamed up.
