Nervy skate for Mariia and that really showed in the stiffness of her landings, and the popped Lutz in the second half of the program.

If you are going to do a Stranger Things program and you are someone with that coloring, I think a more traditional Stranger Things costume would be more flattering. I feel like this dress is wearing her.

It seems to me like very few skaters really feel and understand music. Some are in the sport for the athletic component and muscial interpretation doesn't interest them. Others try to work on that aspect but it clearly doesn't come naturally to them. It makes it all the more special when you get a skater who really does feel and interpret the music, no matter what their level of jumping ability may be.
totally!

and it would be great if that would be rewarded in a component.

Truth. I had a whole conversation about this, and how the crowd can feel it when the skater really feels the music, with Bekker/Hernandez' coach. Nice lady...

Yeah I agree with you, it's roughly those three categories. The ones who don't even try, the ones who try to work on it but just aren't naturally gifted performers.... and then those few for whom the music just flows through the soul and watching them perform their art is a real gift.

The uncertainty over her passport can't be helping Mariia. Unfortunately, I fear her probable placement here isn't going to motivate anyone to push the passport through. I hope i'm wrong and she is able to compete in Milan.

I missed that - what's her passport situation?

Had trouble finding the timing, and spacing on some of her jumps, and just didn't quite relax into the program. Non-jump elements were better, but the overall impression of the performance was lacking.

Wheeeee one of Sauter's better days, she can be so good when she's on! :kickass: Fantastic old school skating skills with great flow, great teknik. LOVE IT! Only wish she had started performing a bit earlier as it was a VERY focused skate until the jumps were done. But I guess it paid off technically.

:cheer2:

wow, her jumps are so high, never noticed before (or forgot  Maybe I raphsodize about it every time)

3l wonderful
3sal hand down maybe ur
2a nice

I like her nice tidy style, very different to Josephine, a bit more understated but very charismatic nonetheless

that put at least a lion among the pidgeons!! :cheer2:

Julia Sauter is another sentimental favourite of mine, who doesn't quite have the technical difficulty to be a medal threat, but the jumps she completed today were beautiful and her skating was so joyful.
