2026 Europeans - Men Free Skate - “To Be Or Not To Appleby - That Is The Quadstion?”

Aymoz gets 0 points for world standings, won't get into the final group. He has an entire block unused in ISU Championships but alas..

Egadze up to 3654 points --> jumps into final Olympic warmup group
Britscghi up to 3610 points
Rizzo up to 3336 points
Grassl gets only 141 points, also had an open block. Up to 3191 points

So final group:
1-3 to skate: Egadze, Sato, Shaidorov
4-6: Siao, Kagiyama, Malinin

Second to last group:
1-3: A Selevko, Miura, Grassl
4-6: Rizzo, Aymoz, Britschgi

I think the penultimate group is correct. Don't see anyone else having moved up enough.

Of course, still 4CC to go if any skaters Olympic-bound attend.

how does that math out if Luka is his godfather? is this just an arrangement they concocted on the bus over or is Luka lying about his age?

4 jumping passes, 50 TES. Congrats Nika!

I really am excited for him. So many 4th places, so many falling apart when he had an opportunity. So supportive of all other skaters, so fun in exhibition skating that hasn't quite crept into the performances. But he's TRYING. Hopefully this gets him the confidence.
When he knew that he had it in the bag, his performance ability started coming through 😂. He definitely has a lot of Charisma. Great to see him live .

Just got through the last two groups. Anyone in the first two groups worth going back to watch? (I assume there are some.)

Cha could move ahead of Selevko into the penultimate group with a win at 4CCs. Miura could move into the 4-6 slots of the penultimate group with a win at 4CCs.

As you said, Sato & Shaidorov are already set for the final group. Those four, plus Jin, Kim and Carrillo are the only other Olympics-bound skaters competing next week and the last three have no shot of the penultimate group.

Where does Deniss land?

For those interested, I spoke to Kessler and he will skate in all of Merano, Oberstdorf, Belgrade, and Tallinn trying to achieve the TES minimum for Worlds.
Belgrade would be Skate Helena 2026 which is marked as "postponed" on the ISU Events page. There is no announcement, so it may be that it is rescheduled beyond the World CTES deadline.

Is the race for Estonia’s lone men’s spot now concluded? Or is it possible that since the outcome at Euros was so close they might want to do another skate off?

And while I disagree with some rankings or margins, I think we can officially declare this as the best judged segment of the last century

Spots for next year

3 spots: GEO, ITA, EST
2 spots: CZE, SUI, ISR, UKR, LAT, SVK

From the Junior circuit, these men will be/are age-eligible to possibly use some of those spots: T. Vaclavik (CZE), N. Sheiko (ISR), L. Vaclavik (SVK) and Supatashvili (GEO).
(FRA)

Georgii on the podium was a refreshing surprise. Glad Matteo medaled and I'm assuming gets the Oly nod.

I thought Tamir was a little undermarked but seems like he left off a combo so left points on the table - thought overall he had done enough to be ahead of both Selevko brothers. Mihhail's PCS seemed overly generous.
