2026 Europeans - Pairs Free Skate - "Don’t Drop Me Now"

For next year’s Euros

3 spots
GEO, GER

2 spots
HUN, SUI, ITA, GBR, POL, CZE, FRA
I wonder if Ger has two pairs, let alone three. Or Georgia.

Roscher/Schuster retired. I cannot see Hocke/Kunkel going on after this season with their many injuries. No ideas about the plans of Hase/Volodin but there is no promising junior team either.
So if someone wants to start representing Germany in pairs - now would be the time :shuffle:

All right, who will be the next Russian team to defect? Hopefully Chikmareva/Ianchenkov.

I can hear Aliona calling a new partner

And by the way, which one @PRlady Because I don’t see myself letting any of them go….
Manuel Piazza, of course. :swoon:

Glad I went to sleep after the Swiss. Also not a pairs fan but I’ve been rooting for Conti/Macii to take gold in Milan and nothing that happened this week changed my mind.

I did enjoy “Iceland,” “Czechia” and “Switzerland.”

I really, really liked Anna and Martin. A few glitches here and there in the early moments but the program really grew as they continued. Lifts were strong. Good connection between the couple throughout. Definitely a team to keep an eye on.

eta: Such joy in the K/C. Nice to see.
I don't know why Bidař's partnerships don't seem to last, but I really root for this one! For me, he is one of those rare male pair skaters that the eye is drawn to (posture, musicality).

Ioulia skating for Poland and still spelling her last name as "Chtchetinina" is just a missed opportunity. A nation that has a toponym "Wrzeszcz" really could have done so much with it.
This is what her wikipedia page says:
Polish: Julia Szczecinina

ETA: under "other names" they also list Julija Ščetinina, which is the way I would have transliterated it in Croatian.
