2026 Europeans - Women Free Skate - "You Can Leave Your Splat On"

Oh dear... Chris is telling us that the first three jumping passes all have rotation calls. :(

If Kristen really can’t do 3t, 3s or 2a due to injury I wonder if she’ll even be ok for the Olympics:fragile: it’s such a shame after she did so well at Euros & Worlds last year.

In which country is the youtube feed available p
lease, Hedwig? I've tried even Brasil and Australia, but it says the video isn't available in that location. :(
Brazil is a go.
I’m watching without issues

I'm a few minutes behind and catching up but my god if Josefin's performance isn't exactly what I want from skating. :swoon: So few performances nowadays evoke these feelings. This is IT. If only more skaters performed from the heart like this.

I’m in Canada and it’s working

Kristen Spours
hard to imagine how to skate if you cannot feel your left leg
brave for her to skate at all. or slightly insane :lol:

3z fall
3l
3f << fall
3l euler 2 flip
3flip 1a
I wondered how she would include the required axel jump
2flip 2l
2lutz
obiously not the skate she wanted but under the circumstances it is probably more than okay for her and she will look back on this happy

Kristin's situation is a good argument for having more freedom in the free skate as to what elements to do. Then she could have replaced some of those jumps with spins and footwork and not risk making her injury worse and having a more satisfying skate.

Brave performance given the injury to the left leg preventing her from doing several jump types.

I was wondering, myself, if this might be a situation where she does the TE SP and then withdraws from the women's event. GBR wouldn't be able to replace her with Povey in that scenario, but it would make Kristen an Olympian (and get Mia Risa Gomez into the women's event as the 1st alternate).

I don't think I've ever seen a program without any salchows and toes in my life. Even coming up with content without them is a big ask! Good for you, Kristen! :respec: The music is very fitting for her situation. And still giving the chsq everything. :kickass.

This - I hate how prescribed the "free" skate currently is.

You don't have to give her all the marks for everything else, but if you're not giving her 10s for Performance then I have no idea what else you even want.

Julija needs to work on moving the jumps away from the boards to give herself more space, and time. A nice performance quality that worked well with the music.

88.99 = 2nd Place
140.70 = 2nd Place

I want Julia to have a costume with a more striking color. Maybe something jeweled. Or at least a deeper purple.

It seems to me like very few skaters really feel and understand music. Some are in the sport for the athletic component and muscial interpretation doesn't interest them. Others try to work on that aspect but it clearly doesn't come naturally to them. It makes it all the more special when you get a skater who really does feel and interpret the music, no matter what their level of jumping ability may be.
