2026 Europeans - Pairs Free Skate - "Don’t Drop Me Now"

If the Georgians blow this and Hungary wins gold, it will be a Sarah Meier European moment. Well no moment due to the SP. Oh, well.

:cheer2: Exactly the results I wanted! I never get all 3. Congratulations to them and their coaching team.

That last lift had problems galore even before the fall. TBH Hocke and Kunkel should probably be ahead of them given three big mistakes. He's very lucky he didn't put his foot down after the 3T or H&K would definitely be ahead.
That last lift has been problematic all season - he's slow most of the time and just doesn't have the propulsion to finish it well.

Jeez - I can't believe the judges put them ahead of PavSvia. Terrible judging.

It's very hard for me to compare anything to the Sarah Meier moment. She planned to retire the previous season and the only reason she was still skating was to go to home Euros in Bern. The fact that she had a great skate there combined with both Kostner and Korpi underforming led to a moment I don't think anybody really saw coming. It's one of my favorite moments in skating history.

Anastasiia Metelkina/Luka Berulava 🇬🇪
Rank after SP: 1
Coach: P. Sliusarenko, E. Zakroev
Music: Le discours d’Arthur, Keeping Me Alive

Triple Twist 3
3S+2Aq+2A+SEQ
3T - fall

Throw 3F
Axel Lasso Lift 4
Throw 3Lo
Back Outside Death Spiral 4
Pair Combo Spin 4
Reverse Lasso Lift 3
Hand-to-Hip Lift 4

Choreo Sequence

That should be enough for the title, and maybe more importantly they held it together during a free skate which has been a challenge for them this season.

-1.00 = Falls
139.80 = 1st Place
215.76 = 1st Place

MetBeru - 3tw - so huge & just gorgeous; SBS 3s+2a+2a - he was a bit pitched forward on the last landing but really good; SBS 3t - and down she goes; throw 3f - swish; first lift - fine; throw 3lo - excellent; BODS - effing leg grab... combo spin - fine; now let's see if he can get through these last two lifts without an error... second lift - alright; last lift - well, well, well... So, they're gonna win even without the choreo seq. I mean, I don't know if I'd be celebrating the way they are since she DID fall on the 3t, but, this may be the first time they've handled the pressure when a major medal was on the line, so good for them.

Aww I especially loved how happy Kiira and Carolina were for her :)

Ahhh the miracle of Bern :swoon:

WOW ..... one mistake but that was superb skating from Anastasia and Luka. The ice coverage on one of their lifts was simply amazing. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good day for the Georgian team. Pity Gub no longer cares. Maybe by the team event where they might have an outside chance for a medal she'll decide to train and skate. It's her only chance at an Olympic medal.

at any given moment I could watch that skate and her reaction to winning again and start sobbing like Kevin Aymoz
