2026 CDN Jr./Sr. Sectionals/Challenge & Skate Canada Trophy

54.1 for Pomorleau. A real shame about the spin as it looks like she now has the highest scoring combo of the event.

Darn I think I jinxed Hetty Shi by saying in my head how this was the best she had skated in a while and then she takes a hard fall on the triple loop. Tracker has her triple flip triple toe combo the highest in the event so far. Looks like it's being held up on review.

Hetty Shi's combo and 2a looked pretty good, although she had a fall on a very underrotated 3lo. Overall though, I thought she looked a lot stronger than last year.

Shi go no PCS love from this panel though. 53.75 puts her in 11th. And the loop was only called q

That was awesome from Reese. Could she do junior worlds? Although she might be hoping for 4CC. She did medal as a junior too internationally

I just tuned into the end of Reese's program. She is happy clappy in the knc, congrats to her!

Shame about the axel from Volkova. Another skater who has struggled with injury. Triple triple was good. And wow my feed is behind. Her final score was up before the replays started.

Grayson doubled both of his lutzes, but otherwise had a fairly strong skate, landing two 3a. I would love to see him continue his breakthrough season by getting a spot to 4CC, assuming he's eligible.
I was thinking Junior worlds?

Breken only needs to make 3 or 4 points I think she can do that.

Grayson is the future

I wouldn’t be surprised if Long got assigned to both 4CC and Junior worlds
Hmmm interesting .. Aleksa having a decent skate, quad and one clean triple axel but two footed the next. I liked his triple loop triple loop. He has improved

Too many pops for Paradis today
But he still got a higher score than Grayson, so he could still be considered for worlds again? See how nationals is?

Hmm Keegan not looking great. Is he allowed to do that backflip after his program? I guess he is the final skater so not interfering. He is still so charismatic but maybe should have stayed retired?

ETA Wesley wins

I thought Keegan would run away with this easily after Wesley had a few errors, but I think I'm going to be proven wrong.

Overall not a great skate by any one. Hopefully by Nationals they will be ready.

Senior Men- Bruce Waddell looks very handsome these days, and some pretty moments in his skate. And gotta love Paradis. Vasii, a great skater but why are we doing a Keegan November Rain tribute program, lol just no.

The men sure tried, but that whole FS was essentially just a disaster from start to finish. Wesley's program was a total misery. Keegan's music is really cloying and straight up terrible, but he does skate with more speed and abandon than the rest of the field by a long way. I am not even an Aleksa fan but he deserved to win the FS by more and win overall. I also really enjoyed Aleksa's SP music.

Senior Women - WOW Reese Rose has some of the most gorgeous and clean jumps out there. Really nice skater too, hoping she can keep that going for the free. Sandrine Blais also had an absolute gem of a 3t-3t combo, bummer about the loop, really excellent qualities in her skating. I realize the spiral gets no credit like it used to but the split second positions for those was really bizarre. Otherwise amazing. These two for me and Gabby were the "it girls" of the short program. I admit I skipped most of those outside of the top 10.

Breken's Carpenters "We've Only Just Begun" is really darling. Kaiya, man that is a boring program, needs to be dumped sorry. Gabby was mostly great. Really enjoyed Fee Ann, sort of feels like she could be a couple spots higher.
