2026 CDN Jr./Sr. Sectionals/Challenge & Skate Canada Trophy

Roccatani skated much better today with her TES over 50 s the program ends, though will surely drop with reviews. She attempted six triples and a double axel double axel sequence. 5 of the triples are showing rotated on the protocol. Good for her.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm enjoying this Shania Twain medley from Emily Sales - who seems to be skating with a cast on her wrist/forearm. I can't believe she's skating this well with that on.

She was wearing the cast yesterday but it was mostly covered up by her sleeve.

Interesting Willy Wonka FD for Proulx/Cincon-Debout. I'd never heard that soundtrack (from the new film) before. Sounds sort of Christmasy.

During the ice make they are showing a clip with the (soon to be former) CEO of Skate Canada discussing the Olympic selection criteria. They aired this during Skate Canada also.

Thanks for confirming it was the same one - I presumed it was but I got a call from a cousin in Ireland and had to turn all my sound off for a few minutes :)

Bella Jia has an ambition program. She attempted 6 triples and popped one into a single. Marks are taking a long time though, probably not a good sign. Into second overall.

Nervous for Brezden. Great start though with a double axel triple toe. Hoping she keeps it up. Triple lutz double toe. Green so far. Another triple lutz. Again green. Triple flip was a little tight but no fall. Wonky triple sal double axel double toe. Triple loop and another triple sal. Okay still reviews to come but I think this will move her up a lot and will qualify. She's getting the levels and GO on spins too.

I just tuned in to catch the last half of Brezden. If the UR's are kept to a minimum this should qualify her quite comfortably.

TES is above 65 for Brezeden before reviews. The live protocol shows a few UR and a q but she should still score well. 103.67 in the free and 150.97 overall. Fingers crossed.

Oof I think D'amour is going to have a tough time qualifying. Her jumps are quite low and this music was really I feel quite heavy for her. Just needs a bit more attack and speed.

Two falls already for Savoie - some enjoyable moments too but this is going to drop as well.

The basic technique seems to be here for Savoie - I thought her 3t and 2a were very good, and her performance was engaging - so it's tough to see her have so many mistakes.

Sorry but Ning Yang was WAY overscored for what she did. Should NOT be second. Should have dropped precipitously.

Amy Shao Ning Yang lacked technical content but has the highest PCS so far. Behind Brezden overall. Brezden needs to pass one more skater to qualify.

I don't think Lussier is going to qualify this time. Fall on opening triple flip and lots of doubles.

Whew, I can watch now. I didn't want to wish any of our women less than stellar skates, so I've been busying myself elsewhere in the house.
I feel you but I kept telling myself that some of these women could have skated a personal best and still not beaten Brezden's total score.

They announced Hetty Shi's name, but there was a loooong pause and then they announced her name again before she finally appeared. I wonder what happened there...
