2025 Canadian Spring/Summer/Fall Competitions

Notable entries: Fée Ann Landry, Breken Brezden, Uliana Shiryaeva, and Justine Miclette in Senior Women, Bombardier/Mimar and Laurin/Ethier in Senior Pairs, Lauriault/Le Gac, Gauthier/Thieren, Harris/Chan, Reed/Ambrulevicius, Nguyen/Giang, and Fabbri/Ayer in Senior Dance, Sandrine Blais in Junior Women (Aleksa Volkova is listed on the start orders as WD, Camila Volkova withdrew a number of weeks ago), Kemp/Elizarov, and Quattrocchi/Lacasse in Junior Pairs, Carandiuc/Carandiuc and Cinçon-Debout/Celestino in Junior Dance.
Ooops! Missed Sara-Maude Dupis, she skates in the 3rd group of Senior women. Here's the expected skate times: https://resultats.patinage.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/HD_15_REV-1.pdf

Well, that ought to be a fun matchup to see who is looking like the stronger team - SCI host TBD spot and Oly spot on the line!
Bombardier/Mimar were no-shows. Hopefully strategy and not an injury!

They don't appear to have archived them yet - all that is available is live coverage at the moment.
IME, it can take a couple of days to a week for all the videos to be archived.

Landry was going for a triple sal triple toe combo but doubled the first jump then fell. The other jumps were good. 53.13

Brezden's short program is absolutely beautiful. So was her triple toe triple toe combo. Sadly her triple lutz was very underrotated. She exudes so much joy though.

Shirayeva opens with a beautiful triple lutz triple toe combo. Not going for the combo as the last jump this time. Sigh down on the triple flip that looked very underrotated. Three possible contenders for the SCI TBDs in this group and none skated to potential.

I was so excited to watch this, but then I had kind of a stressful week and completely forgot about it!

I just missed Sara-Maude, but I was able to rewind the stream and watch her. He landed her 3t-3t and 2a, but her 3lz was under and landed on two feet. She is skating to Madonna, which I think is a good fit for her.

Luckily the quebec dailymotion streams let you rewind (about 4 hours). So I've been able to watch all the senior women I've wanted to while also watching the Cranberry event.

Lussier had a very good skate, similar to what she did at nationals. 56.something.

I'm just watching Dupuis now, huge 3toe 3toe. Underrotated two foot landing on the triple lutz. I do like this music for her (Madonna Ray of Light).

Kind of a rough outing for Justine Miclette, unfortunately. She had both hands down on her 3t-3t, and then kind of fell as she tried to save it. (Not sure if it counts as a fall on the protocol, but I would be inclined to call it a fall.) She was wildly tilted in the air on her 3f, and stepped out. Her 2a was strong though.

She kept her SP from last year, the Shakira cover of "Je l'aime à mourir".

Isn't senior dance going on in rink 4 now? I can't get the stream to come up.

The judges are really pushing L/L-G, and pushing R/A down a bit. Even if they hadn’t had a fall on their Ch Seq, they probably would have maxed out at 114-115. Hopefully they can clean up (and maybe politic?) more before Chinese Nebelhorn.

Well, Les Gacs won't be at the OQE. The question is how are ReedAmbru doing against HarChan, who are likely to be their closest competitors in Beijing.

I tuned into the last group of senior women. It shows the current leader has a TES over 59 points. I wonder who that is because that's a good score for anyone in this field TBH.

Landry had some nice jumps but a single lutz and a double loop. I wonder if she'll ever get a triple triple.

This is a much different look for Miclette with her hair costume and make up. Skating to Madonna la isla bonita, later like a prayer. This is probably better than she skated last season. She did a nice triple flip double axel single axel at the beginning.

Miclette is really happy with her score, 108something. 163 total is close to the Skate Canada benchmark for an international (166)

Brezden had two falls (flip and lutz) but did manage to do a nice triple lutz combination after falling on the first one. 100.17 155.59 total.

That was pretty good from Dupuis for this point in the year. She did a really nice triple lutz double toe double loop at the beginning and actually went for a second triple lutz later (hand down). She doubled the flip but I think she did two triple loops, also did the double axel triple toe (step out). Again scores taking forever...

116.82, 172.97 total. First place obviously.

Lussier did a really nice triple flip double toe double loop to open her program and a nice triple lutz. She had a second triple lutz planned but did a single. 95something, 151.95 total.

Shiryaeva great triple lutz triple toe, triple flip, triple loop and double axel for the first half. Triple flip triple sal combo second half. Down on the second lutz. Double axel double toe to finish the jumps. This probably puts her at the top of the pack of contenders for the SCI TBD spot. We'll have to see how Daleman and Ruiter fair next week. Oh and Brezden gets another chance next week too.

On this page, it appears that there is a $9 charge for each of the rinks - per day/per event?? Streaming starts tomorrow.
To set up a member log on, the only option is $40 charge for the year.

I'm seeing the two rinks with a countdown in my account now. There doesn't appear to be a link to pay yet, possibly will appear when the livestream starts.

Alrighty, the livestream is now up and running, and yes, when you click on the start arrow on the video you want to watch, a purchase link comes up. And yes, it is $9.00 + tax per rink, which is a little 🙄 depending on how you interpret "event", but it's supporting the ON Section, so a worthy cause.

Let us know how the “on demand” works as then might be worth it.
