I am finding Reece Rose’s scores confusing for Lake Placid where she won the short in Senior women and came 2nd in the Long. According to the judges scores she landed a triple axel in the short yet for her long she did mainly doubles?

Not sure where you're getting the triple Axel from?

von Felten attempted one, not Reece Rose.

The judges sheets
I think you were mistaken - there's no 3A on her sheet.

That’s the weirdest thing I could have sworn it’s what I read. I must be seeing things. I thought it was odd.
The regular USFS wedgie data is a list of the skaters with the scores, and plus sign that expands to give the breakdown of scores - push the wrong plus sign, and suddenly you think you're reading info for one skater when you're really looking at info for a different skater.

A little heads up for anyone planning to stream Skate Ontario events this season - they have moved to a subscription model: https://skateontario.org/2025-2026-skate-ontario-live-stream/

Two Flexible Subscription Options will be available:

Full Year Subscription: Enjoy all-access live and on-demand content for just $40.00+HST CAD.
Per Event Subscription: Pay $20.00+HST CAD for the marquee events you want to watch live and $9.00+HST CAD for the tier 2 events you want to watch live.

The August competition falls under a "Tier 2" event, but the July event isn't listed, so likely won't be livestreamed.

Also, it appears there has been a recent rule change regarding age eligibility to compete at the Senior level in domestic events: https://info.skatecanada.ca/index.p...etitive-competition-program-requirements.html

Age: For Domestic Competitions, Senior Singles competitors must have reached the age of 13 before July 1 preceding the competition.
Age: For Domestic Competitions, Senior Pair competitors must have reached the age of 13 before July 1 preceding the competition.
Age: For Domestic Competitions, Senior Ice Dance competitors must have reached the age of 13 before July 1 preceding the competition.

Shall we call this the "Lia Cho rule"? ;)

Thanks for the info @shutterbug
I'll happily pay the $40 to watch the events this year.
I wonder if the other provinces will continue free streams (as well as Skate Canada itself).

For now, I imagine other provinces will continue with free streaming at least for this season. I have no insider info, but it definitely wouldn't surprise me if there are some bigger changes with streaming coming at the beginning of the new quad (if only to navigate music rights stuff). Also, in my experience SO doesn't care what other provinces are doing for whatever that's worth lol.

I'm really pleased that this new next generation approach is keeping skaters in junior longer as a few years can really make a difference with their growth and development. I think it is really helps that we have so many skaters who are in their 20's and 30's and still improving and developing - I think that federations are noticing.

Megan Woodley had a rough skate to start the event off (falls on both triples, no combo). In the kiss and cry she was with Lee Barkell (and another coach who looks familiar but I don't know the name and couldn't read the name tag).

Kevin Dawe ETA - Kemp/Elizarov's longtime coach.

So I know I say this every year but Lee Barkell just does not seem to age. Keeping his hair adds to that more youthful appearance but he honestly doesn't look much older then he did when he was sitting in the K&C with Jeffrey Buttle.

Whoops! Forgot this was starting already today. Just started up the stream with the 2nd warm-up group.

Whoa. Who is this Victoria Barakhtina & where did she come from? Solid 3z+3t in the bonus, good 3lo, nice look & presentation.
