2025 Canadian Spring/Summer/Fall Competitions

I really like Medland-Spence's new short program. The first two jumps were huge and gorgeous but she went for the combo as the last jump and fell on the triple toe so no combo.

Daleman is on the warmup right now.

Daleman looks great. Huge 3toe 3toe and 2axel but a step out on the triple flip. 64.7. I thought she looked fast and strong out there. Hopefully she can duplicate this and even better at the Ice Challenge competition.

Pretty impressed with Gaby Daleman, she looks super fit, she didn’t muscle her jumps, was calm and collected. Got 64, would have been higher but spun out of her triple lutz. I guess a year with no injuries and her two surgeries to fix things worked! I think she is in the mix!

She hasn’t looked this good since I last saw her skate live, which actually was in Milan at worlds many years ago! Good for her!

The senior women’s free is on.. Decent skate from Megan Woodley, her difficult triples landed but down on the Sal. Much better than short. I know a lot of transition for her with new club and coaching and adult body, also I think she had an injury? Anyway really getting back on form, she should be good for her International.
107.29 for free. 152.28 overall (but had a difficult short).

Medland-Spence , rather tentative skate, doubled the lutz. But a pretty skate. 106.2 for free, 157.76 overall and into first place.

Lulu Lin doubled one of flips but the rest was clean. She has really matured, nice program and dress. She seems to have adjusted now to her mature body. Seems like yesterday she was that little 11 year old with the triple jumps. 108 in free and 162 something overall.

I thought Daleman skated great. She went for the triple lutz triple toe, but two footed the second jump. Will be curious to see the protocols but I think she jumps she did were good. I think she doubled the flip though.

Gabby Daleman.. a nice skate but not clean. You can almost see it in her body language she gets nervous and muscles her way through the jumps. Two footed her combo and doubled a flip but then settled down. Then back to her lovely jumps and spins. She has got to be the most resilient skater! She is so talented, such quality.
in her skating.
I think I’m getting back on the Gabby bandwagon. I am impressed she didn’t let the early errors impact her other jumps. Free program score 121.45 total 186.15 and well deserved. This could become quite the comeback story.

Yes she doubled it, but that clean will be difficult to beat

Minsol Kwon lovely talented skater but still very much a junior especially following the power and speed of Gabby. Nice jumps though but a little paint by numbers, but she’s only 16. In the free skate 129.05 total 195.27 fo first overall. So third Lulu, second Gabby and first Minsol.

Daleman’s 3Z+3T was << on the protocol, as I assumed it would be after viewing the video.

I don’t think she needs to try that conbo to be honest. She’s repeating a 3T anyway later, so why not just do the monster 3T+3T and get huge goe and no risk on an under (or downgrade). She can still do two lutz’s as she is right now.

But she definitely looks much more stable on the jumps than she had in a while. The skating was a bit sticky in places I thought though. But she’s on an upward trajectory and nationals will be interesting.

I think if she does well on her internationals it will potentially come down to Nationals. Same with the guys. Going to be a very interesting Nationals for the solo places at the Olympics for both the men and women.
