That's the thing about saying "just watch the ISU Feed." If you aren't set up for it because you are using Peacock, it takes a while to switch. If only we'd known about the terrible TTJs ahead of time...

For everyone saying the Italians I think they were always an outside shot at a medal. I think C/M got VERY lucky with NHK which was not the best skated and not the hardest field.

If I had to place bets right now, I'm going with the Germany, Japan, and Georgia in that order. I do love the fact that all of a sudden, pairs is looking really good.

Did the Japanese throw the SP so they wouldn't have talk to Andrea Joyce?

Here's the thing... ConMac always seem to come through and medal even when they're not the best or the third-best team in the field. The other teams almost always make more mistakes and ConMac have proven they know how to deliver when it matters most. That's why I think it's unwise to count them out. I'd bet on at least one of the Germans, Georgians or Japanese to screw it up badly in Milano-Cortina - and I'd bet on both ConMac and SuiHan benefitting from those errors.

The better question, at this point, is which of GEO, GER & JPN will skate the cleanest and leave Milano-Cortina with an Olympic medal, because I really think only one of those teams will keep it together enough to land on the podium.

Don’t know how Akopova/Rakhmanin will do in the free, but after the SP they said that they got the news about the event on Monday, couldn’t train properly for the last three weeks (they got new skates, and then both were sick) and had to travel for more than 30 hours to get to Lake Placid.

They are without their coaches/ with Urmanov, because Savin had some urgent matters and Klimov stayed home with his newborn 3 weeks old daughter (Tarasova has a show commitment this weekend)
