2025 Skate America Pairs Free - Slay Something (I'm Giving Up On You)

Everyone has an opinion about just about everything, but everyone needs to respect the fact that others may not share that opinion.
Posting facts about the actual skating is great (even if the eye of the beholder saw it differently from those judging and assigning values). Posting opinions about those skating can get off the rails pretty quickly, as can posting opinions about other posters.

Let's all be respectful of others, please.

They did? They’ve been around that long? Oh wow.
2022 was a HOT mess of a pairs competition at SkAm. It was a 40+ point gap between SDDes in silver and LaurEth in bronze. And there was a 10 point gap between LaurEth and the Mokhovs who finished 4th.

I'm very glad to see how much LaurEth have improved - and the pairs field in general. The 8th place score here today from FlorWang would have won bronze at 2022 SkAm too.

I don't understand the comment as the 1980 rink is Olympic sized, although there was a gap between the dasher boards and the front row so maybe that makes the rink NHL-sized.
JLB was talking about the 1980 rink on the Thursday practice cam and he mentioned that when the arena was renovated they made the ice pad adjustable so that it can be either Olympic or NHL sized. No idea what size the rink was this week, though JLB did say the corners are more square than rounded like you find in most other Olympic-sized rinks and that may pose a challenge for the pairs teams used to training in European rinks, but I think Bruno is full of sh*t about the rink size being the reason for the final group's mostly subpar performances.
