2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

lol i think it sounds amazing but also I can eat like two spoonfuls of ice cream at most before i get a headache

I can only eat oat milk ice cream and no cake or cookies so off the hook. I’d like some chowdah in my future but they always use a flour roux. :(

Can someone confirm that there are indeed no water fountains remaining at TD Garden? I replied to the LOC email asking that and they said so, but said to confirm with the TD Garden customer service.

TD's A to Z guide says the following:

"Courtesy cups of tap water are available for all guests, please ask your server."

Also:
Guests with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should contact TD Garden at 617-624-1331 or via email at [email protected].

Confirmed no water fountains at TD Garden. I believe a bottle of water is $6? Although some stands will be nice and give you free tap water.

I’ll be wearing all the hoodies I own that have a wide front pocket. Can fit a full size bottle of water in there.
Is this your plan for once you're in the arena or your plan to try to smuggle water in? Because if it's the latter, I wouldn't put high odds on getting it past security. A sandwich that is relatively flat, light and stuffed in a pocket of a puffy coat is one thing. A bulging, heavy bottle of water sloshing around is another.

I’ll have a jacket over the hoodie so they won’t be able to see the bulge 😉 I’ve done this trick many times!

Unless they make you take off your coat, which is pretty common. But the worst that can happen is they'll confiscate your water bottle so I suppose no harm in trying.

At other rinks I've sprung for one bottle of water a day and refilled it. You can use the bathroom faucet to refill if no fountains exist.
Yes, I realize that people seem to think that’s horrible and gross but it’s the same water that came out of the water fountain. It’s just not been cooled by the water fountain.

Personally, I do it because I’m sorry this is a rip off six dollars for a bottle of water and not letting you bring your own in. Boston should be ashamed of themselves.

What i use in cases like this is actually a very small bottle of water cause you can put that in your pocket in your coat and no one will see it. It’s not the big giant ones. It’s like the little ones they give you on airlines it’s probably 6 to 8 ounces of water instead of the 16 to 20 you get in a regular bottle. That bottle is small enough that I don’t recall that anybody’s ever seen it. Heck, I took a whole full one through the TSA a few weeks ago 😂

My water bottle is ten ounces and no metal. Figuring out which of my coats has best pockets.

IIRC they didn't allow outside water bottles in Montreal either because of the caps but I could be misremembering.

In Montreal, you were not allowed to bring outside drinks in; you could buy bottles of various drinks inside the arena but they were required (due to hockey regulations) to remove the caps before you took them.
I had a folding water bottle that I took into the arena each day, well hidden in my bag, along with some snacks :)

For those planning on buying one, then refilling, bring a Dasani cap, but because we will need to exit between sessions, that’s $12/day. I have a collapsible silicone cup with lid that folds to about 3/8” and will bring it in my ScottEVest. If they confiscated it, it’s only $5 down the drain, so to speak.

Good to know I wasn't hallucinating this. Also, while I'm on a memory roll, I'm pretty sure all of the food vendors provided a free cup of water if you asked. I'm pretty sure the same will be true in Boston.

I don’t remember if they had free cups of water, but I do remember buying a bottle and they took the cap. One of the vendors took pity on me trying to carry an open bottle and a bunch of food and kindly offered me a paper cup with a lid for the water.

I can understand the caps, but that doesn’t explain the removal of water fountains. That was just a greed move.
Actually, they took them out as part of the reopening after the Covid shutdown. It was a state mandate. Why they didn’t just disable them, who knows.

Because if we didn't just disable them but took them down it would lead to an increase in sales of water and we can blame covid. Kind of like Marriott telling me that they only clean your room every few days because "covid" LOL! Yeah in 2025 it's not covid it's "look we found a way to make money while pretending it is for safety"
