2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

Because if we didn't just disable them but took them down it would lead to an increase in sales of water and we can blame covid. Kind of like Marriott telling me that they only clean your room every few days because "covid" LOL! Yeah in 2025 it's not covid it's "look we found a way to make money while pretending it is for safety"
A lot of hotels have cut down on cleaning because they can’t staff for that anymore. Blame COVID for people deciding those jobs suck.

I’m sorry, but I know people who work in hotel management they aren’t even trying to fill those jobs. They realized how much money they were saving and they plan to keep saving it forever. Even if they could find people to do it, they won’t. Oh, and somehow, in the rest of the world they’re still able to do daily cleaning.

I've had some similar experiences in Europe since 2022--I think especially in chain hotels. It's not only in the US that hotels are cutting back.

Looking for feedback
I have my all event tix, but did not buy gala tix at that time. I was unsure if I would be there. Also in past worlds- people are getting rid of gala tixs, so I was not worried.
I can go now and in looking to buy at ticketmaster- there r not many available, and good seats are high. Assuming i terest in event is increased due to recent events.
Should I buy a ticket now or gamble that I can buy one during the event?
Appreciate your feedback

For those still looking, prices have come down drastically on CitizenM which is right next to the arena. When I started looking for hotels a month or two ago, it was around $500 or $600 a night. I just got 6 nights for $187 a night, and 35% rewards coming back after I complete the stay.

Thank you so much for the alert!

I was going to suggest collapsible water bottles as one solution to the "water in the arena" concern. Honestly at most arenas the concern about water bottles is the same for any kind of bottle: that it might be thrown at the athletes or onto the ice. That's a legitimate concern, because a bottle could trip someone or really hurt them if it hits. So if you have a water bottle, be discreet when you drink from it, and put it away when you're done.

The prices change literally hourly and sometimes it's by large amounts, so just keep your eyes out in the next few weeks and ideally find something that has free cancelation up until the day before.. just in case something better comes along. Shortly after I booked, I reloaded Google Hotels and I think it was up to $203. Still much better than it had been in the last months, though.

Glad you lucked out. I was considering switching, but your rate was gone by the time I searched.

I was lucky and booked the citizen M very early and got my nights for a great rate, but I’ve been trying to add a night and it’s more than I want to spend so I’m staying my first night at the Hilton at the airport. Of course I got it for free using reward points so it’s hard to beat that price

But I have seen some other prices going down. I got a decent quote at a courtyard, not the one closest to the arena, but not too far so if you haven’t got a hotel, keep checking prices have fluctuated some as normal with an event like this. optimism, sometimes gives way to reality

Thinking back to the seemingly endless discussion of footwear anytime there’s an event in Boston, I am happy to report that unlike Nats in 2014 and Worlds in 2016, there are no piles of snow, snirt, or slush on the streets. It seems safe to leave the bulky boots at home. Cold rain can happen anytime, though, so it might be a good idea to bring whatever keeps your feet dry.

I was hoping the practice schedule would come out this week, but I looked back and last year’s wasn’t posted until two weeks before the event. I’m getting so antsy! 😄
Me, too. I’m hoping to organize a get together on Tuesday, but can’t even begin to plan until I see what time the dance practice is. I hope the “easy walking distance” restaurants can accommodate a group on less than normal notice.

Don't jinx it!!

Ask and ye shall receive!

The mens free practice is before ice dance free on Saturday. Does the all event allow us to watch that?

going to wait to see the practice groups before i grumble about ice dance practice at 6am on tuesday
I was hoping that dance and men practice would be later in the day and I could switch to the midday flight instead of crack of dawn. I guess I got half my wish?

If the U.S. teams are in the early dance groups, I might change my flight anyway, since the flight I'm on doesn't land until 8, the earliest I could get to the arena is probably around 9:30.
