2025 GPF Pairs FS - Wedgius Maximus

I swear the ISU is asking ChatGPT to do all the work lately, from forgetting to erase that part out of Shaidorov’s profile blip, to now this German flag:

I’m okay with this podium, but I would have put the Italians first based on their emotion and clean elements, but I get why the Japanese won overall their quality of skating is really incredible and the Germans were precise and if they had not made the error in the short would have won the Grand Prix final. But really not much in it, a great podium and especially happy for the Italians and how sweet for the Japanese at home.

What a great event - I definitely would have had the Italians first overall though. At this point, I think M/K, C/M, and H/V have separated themselves into a clear top three for the Olympics if clean. Now in what order, who knows. The Georgians and Hungarians (and maybe Sui/Han?) will be ready to pounce if there are mistakes.

I'm sure FODS can be made beautiful. I'm also sure no pair ever managed to do it yet
They just need to make the value of it like 1.5. That would guarantee nobody would try it.
Sawchenko is calling, she wants her Olympic LPs back. Ah, and she called the police too
And a few moments later she heaved a big sigh. Because the officer let them off with only a warning.

Still love Riku’s dress. The Hungarians seem really solid but the posture and extension just aren’t there. Pavlova really seemed to rush through her movements and did them as throwaway bits.

I’m not specifically a fan of ConMac, but I think they should have won the SP and beat Miura/Kihara in the LP.

When you have pairs who all have excellent quality, it’s weird for the winners to be the ones that were the least clean in the LP. (Obviously Minerva’s pop takes them out of the win, but ConMac were much cleaner.)

I also somewhat think the Hungarians should have been 4th in the LP.

Despite being world champs this quad, D/SD look like the one random pair that lucked out and made the final due to weak events/weird math.
