I despaired for my favorite discipline the past 3 years, but there is hope on the horizon.

I really hate this music. They were fire in the sp, they really should have had something more upbeat, they do it well.

Probably the best jumps in the terms of distance and sync, but I wouldn't want my life to depends on the finished rotation. Neat death spiral into pair spin. Probably the worst lifts or the top pairs, but then again, I'm shocked he can lift anything heavier than a fork.

I like them, I wouldn't mind them getting an Olympic medal. I'm not impressed by this lp. But at least it's not Sawchenko 2.0

Many try to emulate the Goddesso pair skaitng. None succeed.

It's the nerves.
They should skate with more confidence. At least, show it.

MiuKih - the non-Gladiator-esque Gladiator program. 3tw - fine; SBS 33+2a+2a - he loses his landing on the last 2a & puts a hand down; first lift - very nice; throw 3f - really nice; BODS - fine; combo spin - alright; SBS 3s - good; second lift - fine; throw 3lo - stepout on the landing; last lift - good; choreo seq - meh.

This is going to win because we're in Japan for the GPF and we saw what happened yesterday, but it shouldn't win, just like they shouldn't have won the SP yesterday.

It was a good skate, but not to the level of the Germans, or the Italians. Quality on the lifts, and the first throw may carry them.

147.89 = 2nd Place
225.21 = 1st Place

They are only at like a - 2 1/2 GOE for the end of their SEQ flub which is generous- and no fall?. It's already miles apart.

Twist 3, Death spiral down to 3, 5RLi up to 4 after initially 3.

They will win, but I think it's been generous GOE and rotation calling for both programs this competition. The Italians should win and probably the Germans should be 2nd.

Miura/Kikhara are a different level than the rest,but not as in 'better" but rather as in "different". They have exquisite basics, which translate to beautiful lifts, but they don't have the elegant lines that C/M, H/V and M/B have. Great speed. Also, they are benefitting from taking a warhorse which is not a version of a depressing repetitious pieces (and I love those!).

I can understand why the judges love them. Personally, I don't think they won this competition.

S-D&D look awful. If they continue to skate like this, they're going to struggle to stay in the top 10. I'd say their national title is not guaranteed either, but Pereira and Michaud have been just as bad.

The "thank you" medals don't always have to be gold.

It's alright, though, because not winning the GPF will take a bit of pressure off the Italians, hopefully, and not put quite as much expectation on them heading into the Olympics.

My alarm didn't go off or I slept through it. I was able to catch up by the end. I don't have a lot of thoughts. Just:

I found the GOE for the Hungarians to be kind of stingy at times. I would have had Rika & Ryuichi in 3rd in the FS.
