The difficulty of maintaining the speed, and pace of the music throughout this program, and yet Mao manages to keep it moving from start to finish.

Except for Yujae's loop there was not a single q, <. <<, ! or e in this entire event. Imagine that! And I don't think it's because of lenient calling - the younger generation are really getting schooled on rotations and edges.

Mao was brilliant and always and I'm so relieved she can F I N A L L Y skate senior next year after being held down in juniors for a torturous four seasons.

The other Japanese women are also DELIGHTFUL each in their own way - Okada has power and precision, Oka has really adventurous choreography and Kanazawa has incredible youthful energy and expression. So excited to see these women develop as seniors.

I was so impressed by these Japanese juniors. The speed, the music, the choreography!
