This commentator is kind of adorable. "Lorine Schild is one of my favourite skaters for her tenacity. Her jump technique is so determined."

As Lorine veers five different ways before somehow landing on one foot, I can't deny that is a nice way of looking at the world.

Has the leader score in the score box for individual LP performances always been for the overall leader over both programs, rather than for the LP? Because Ruiter's TES is the highest in the LP (61.51), but it is Pirreda's score that is showing (57.13).

It shows the overall leader’s TES for the free segment, not the segment leader’s score.

Yes it has. Presumably because having the top overall score is sooo much more important than winning the free skate.

I think in all my years of figure skating I have only once ever heard American commentary where they even mentioned someone who was not the overall leader as having a better score in a free program. Commentators from other countries are more likely to talk about it, but still not very often.

So I'll mention it now - Kaiya still has the best score in the free program, lol.
