2024 Grand Prix Final - Men FS: “Don’t Cry For Me Malanin(a)”

Sato was 5th last year at Japan Nats. I’m really hoping he stays in the mix for 2030, as I think he can be something special, especially working with Cizeron.

So can anyone explain why male skaters seem to have much less pre-rotation on jumps than some of the top females?

Satos PCS lowest so far :eek: (WHOOPS, it’s not. Lower than Aymoz. I stand corrected. Because I can’t count, apparently.)

Argh... Down on the 4z. But nails the 3a+1eu+4s! I have no idea what's going to happen here...

Shaidorov

4Lz(< probably, fall), 3A+Eu+4S tight but done, 4F tight I think, 3Lo, 4T+3T, 3A+2A, 3Lz

Pushing technical boundaries, trying to work on the second mark. Just flat today even with the big jumps. He could've done 3A+4T and 3A+4S and gotten in bigger jumps elsewhere, but thats a big ask.

Think enough of the jumps go to review, plus what probably should be the lowest PCS of the field that Sato should move up to medal here.

Blah blah blah nothing in between jumps but stroking, Mohawks and 3 turns. And someone needs to explain what Moonlight Sonata and a Take on Me remix have to do with each other. Was this the coach compromising with the kid who said “80s music is so fire!”

Shaidorov giving us so many jumps! I’m wondering when we’ll get the Quad/Quad from Ilia.

Shaidorov's resemblance to Urmanov is uncanny (including his slow spins :shuffle: ), but he's coming into his own.

lol at Ted making the forbidden comparison (between Shaidorov and Malinin) and inviting the question of why Malinin isn't getting Shaidorov's levels and PCS.
