I noticed shadows on the ice earlier, so either the lights weren't working or someone forgot to flip a switch or cameras as noted.

not kind...I remember (some of my earliest memories) standing in our next door's porch with my elder brothers where we were able to see the tv just purchased.....first one on our street. We moved from there when I was 3 and I was born in 1951...so yes way before the 80's.
