2024 Athletics Thread - Road to Paris

And Coleman. I think he’s up in the next heat.
And he cruised to his heat win too. Shut it down well before the finish line.
That kit may not be allowed for this meet. Because it’s to make Team USA, not compete for Team USA.
I guess that makes sense. Now I'm gonna have to pay closer attention to the rest of the athletes this meet, lol.

And Ryan's pretty happy with his first throw!

Christian Coleman really has the best start in the world.

Ryan Crouser just did 22.44 in his first throw in the shot put. I just that means he’s probably going to Paris. ?

We can only wish the ISU aspired to have our skaters display this much individuality and personality, lol.

I mean, look at why Noah and Sha’Carri have been able to make so much $$$$ and ads this year. ??‍♀️ Imagine what they’ll get to do if they win in Paris?

All three of these women seem so very normal and wholesome! What a great team!

That women's 100 final was insane and SO good. I'm super happy for the podium and especially Sha'Carri after what happened in 2021. That is one strong 100M team! :cheer:

It has been SO fun to watch all of these Olympic Trial events on NBC (and some on Peacock) and I cannot wait for week #2 with more track and finally gymnastics! :cheer2:

Medically enhanced…. :shuffle:

Moving on, this is some interview with pole vaulter Sam Kendricks.

There’s no excuse for getting those whereabout failures when he had a seven figure contract with Nike and all he had to do was keep straight where his location was for drug testing. It’s part of the job.

About Kendricks - how else realistically was Team USA/USATF supposed to handle him testing positive for Covid in Tokyo? All the athletes were supposedly briefed on what would happen if that happened to them during the Olympics.

Why in the heck is Kendricks even competing at the Trials if he "hates" the Olympics? He sounds like a total jacka$$ in that clip.
