Last warm up on the ice now. So disappointing that Liu Nagy are gone but apparently they feel their SA spot is secured and she had some small medical emergency at Champs camp so I see why they withdrew to rest.

Final group (apparently there are ongoing computer scoring software issues?):

Hanns/Neudecker (music?): "Solid program. No major errors."

Plazas/Fernandez (Rhapsody on A Theme of Paganini, Op43: Variations 11 & 8 by Sergei Rachmaninoff) - "He fell on jump, really good lift, like the program & music."

Martins/Bedard ("In This Shirt" by The Irrepressibles, choreo. by Rohene Ward; scored 54.89 in their Glacier Falls SP) - "She fell on 3S and throw" (had landed both at GF)

Gamez/Korovin ("My Love" by Kovacs) - "Excellent twist but hard fall on throw and only double toes"

Max with the fall on the SBS jumps is different, lol.

GamKor - sounds like more of the same from them. :(

Well the FS will be exciting to see ! But not much show in terms of scores and performances for the internationals. McBeath/Parkman were the stars of the pairs today šŸ˜…

What are the FCCs minimum?

EDIT- I see it's 25 and 42. Mokhovs and H/N also reached it though.
The Mokhovs and Hanns/Neudecker already have the Worlds SP TES mins. Hanns/Neudecker need the Worlds FS min, and it wouldn't hurt the Crafoords to achieve it tomorrow since their FS TES min is from 2021 John Nicks IPC, so it expires in a couple days.

If you look at my chart above :), yes, they got both minimums last season.

Schaller/Mayr (AUT) and the Crafoords (SWE) both got the Worlds SP minimum today that they lacked last season and are eligible for 2024 Worlds now! :cheer:
Aren't the Crafoords about to lose their FS min since they earned that in Sept 2021?

Look at my painstakingly updated chart. ;)
Hmmmm... probably need to let the ISU know since their chart still shows their 2021 John Nicks FS TES.

ETA - which makes sense since it's higher than their 2023 Bavarian Open TES. But, it's good that they don't need to earn it again! Onward and hopefully upward since last January, though.

Re-posting from someone who doesn't have access in here:
10:58 am Thursday

junior nqs pairs warm-up started

They are not letting spectators stand near boards today in West Rink -- even far away from entrance door to ice.
Literally only ten nine chairs total for spectators in West Rink, which are at corner of ice.
Junior Pairs FS (NQS) live unofficial: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2023/33420/CAT010SEG002.html

Since Chris Knierim is coaching Zheng/Deng in their JGP debut in Istanbul this week, Timothy LeDuc is in NYC with Fletcher/Felberbaum for their junior international debut.

Senior NQS

1 McBeath/Parkman 60.78 + 120.61 181.39
2 Linzy Fitzpatrick/Bearinger 45.61 + 84.61 130.22

HUGE score for the FS for McBeath/Parkman! Only their second competition, heard it wasn't a clean skate either.

Yeahhhhh... If I were a bunch of teams hoping for that 3rd spot on the Worlds & 4CCs teams, I'd be looking over my shoulder at them, knowing they're going to be eligible for international competition in December. Golden Spin here they come!

I have been saying for a while that McBeath needed a stronger partner. Not that Nate wasn’t good, but he was older and had lots of injuries. McBeath was quite the decent singles skater (I believe she made Nationals as a Senior), and she seems fearless, those throws were always really strong with Nate. She can do most of the triples, which is a huge plus! It will be interesting to see M/P and L/N develop. They both have very different strengths and are both quality teams (though I worry about injuries with Liu). But, if I was either of the top 2 pairs, I would be working extra hard. Neither of the girls are superb Jumpers, and who Knows what throw triples Ellie can do. Also, Spencer is coming back from shoulder surgery I think. Could be a breakthrough season for a pair team or two!

Eh... I guess we'll see how they've progressed in the last 6 months when they debut at Nebelhorn, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Ellie Kam's jumping skills - she was getting Qs called on most of her 3Ss last season, and their throw triples weren't stellar.

I agree with you. Neither Ellie or Emily are great jumpers and Ellie’s throws weren't strong last year either. Both beautiful pairs skaters, but it definitely leaves room for M/P and L/N.
I don’t personally think any of the other current Senior pairs from the US, that I have seen are any threat to these teams currently.

I'd say that Emily is a bit stronger than Ellie on the jumps/throws front - but she and Spencer have also been partners for 4 seasons now, so that makes a huge difference. Chan/Howe may very easily be surpassed by one or more of these new pairs teams by Milano, but I think their spot on the 4CCs & Worlds teams this year is pretty secure.

I do agree, none of the other teams we have seem like they are much of a threat - maybe Plazas/Fernandez could gel enough - they do have spectacular lifts, but she's another suspect jumper.
They started updated the live scores !
Well, looks like the Mokhovs have probably just secured their 2nd GP with the remaining SkAm TBD spot based on the scores of the other three US teams vying for it.

I'm sad for Martins/Bedard. I heard she looked sick and unwell :( but Mokhovs are now the sure leaders. Neudecker/Hanns can't pull through on any of the freeskates.
