2022/23 Canadian Sectionals & Fall/Winter Competitions

It was a triple twist (I thought so, but the picture froze in the element - just checked the protocol). The timing on the 3Ts was excellent. Only a level 2 on the twist, but all the other elements got level 4. Agree with shutterbug that they already look like a pair. I hope they can get an international to get their minimums before 4CC. (of course, there's still the free skate to go here . . .)
Golden Spin!

Oh good - thanks for the correction! Yeah, the feed was a little wonky for me during that part. That explains how the score was so high!

I randomly guessed which DailyMotion link it was and fortunately guessed right. And I actually got sound on my phone this time at DailyMotion! All my complaints must have had an effect!

LOL I was watching something else on my TV so was trying to watch this on my computer and it was buffering like crazy. So I ended up stopping what was on my TV and casted this instead, quebec daily motion always lets you rewind so here I am. Wow they look good. Only a throw double and a double twist, but they are doing well. Tracker showed a level 4 lift with good GOE. Assuming they have a free skate ready it would be great to see them at Golden Spin along with Pereira and Michaud.

Carignan and Pierro also skated and they actually won the segment. I wasn't really watching LOL but they had a 31 tech score which is pretty good.
After having a front row seat for their twist accident, I have trouble watching them period.....:(

Well, holy 💩, Pereira/Michaud had an amazing free program, scored 122.16. The only elements that need to be upgraded to triples are the throws, otherwise they are ready to compete at the senior international level. Should Lia choose to drop singles, she will have a successful career in pairs.

Yeah, I can't get over how good they are already, especially when she's been so busy competing singles too over the past few months. Imagine how good they'll be by Canadians, after a couple more months together!

That was pretty decent. The only upgrade they need is on the throws, but even with just doubles, a skate like that is going to score reasonably well internationally. If Skate Canada sends them to Golden Spin, they certainly have the potential to earn the Worlds TES mins. Additionally, as Trennt was 6th at Worlds last year with Evelyn, this new team will qualify for the GP next season as a "Return of a Split Couple" and, based on what we're seeing on the GP so far, they'll get two assignments on the initial list next summer.

My daughter is there coaching and then the Canada Winter games next month. There are also the Northern European Nordic athletes there as well, but yes no Siberians! The YouTube has been great to watch the sports, just remember it’s all volunteers who are doing the camera work.
