They would have finished last.Nik Sorensen screwed up again like I predicted, hopefully skate canada sends lala to worlds they are now one of the best teams in the world, i`m sure they would have killed this comp.
Nothing like letting your biases shine through...Nik Sorensen screwed up again like I predicted, hopefully skate canada sends lala to worlds they are now one of the best teams in the world, i`m sure they would have killed this comp.
Nope. Crone and Poirier were Canadian ice dance champs in 2011, and if I remember correctly, the best they did at GPF was the bronze in their last season together.Congrats to Piper and Paul! All of our Canadian ice dance champs have won GPF since its inception, except interestingly Dub/Lau.
Undisclosed injury.Assume Makita and Gunara have retired? Or serious injury.
I still remember them fondly from Lake Placid more than 3 years ago.Undisclosed injury.
It came at a particularly unfortunate time for them, since I suspect getting a host spot on the Grand Prix next year will be more challenging.
Guys… senior Ice dancers are starting to follow me on ig… IM FREAKING OUT MOM I MADE IT
Hello everyone! As many of you know, the week before Sheffield, Paul dislocated his shoulder in practice. We managed to modify few things in our programs and pushed through the week to compete and we are really proud of us for doing that! Unfortunately, Paul needs another surgery for his shoulder. After a long time of reflection, we took the hard decision of withdrawing from our Canadian nationals. It’s a heartbreaking decision, but it is the best thing to do for our future and long term goal. We are more than thankful for the support of our coaches (@iceacademyofmontreal), patinage Quebec(@patinageqc)and patinage canada(@skate_canada), we can’t thank you enough! We are already looking forward to compete next season!
Paul will get his surgery on December 28th! Let’s all wish him a nice and really really fast rehab! you got this!
So sad for me as this is the team I wait anxiously for to see their new programs each yr. and to watch them compete. But using the shoulder right now is just tempting fate. This is the for sure the right decision and I will have to watch reruns to see their programs this year. Fingers crossed all goes smooth.Joint post by Fabbri/Ayer, written by Alicia, about their withdrawal from Nationals : https://www.instagram.com/p/CmHuq9Iv-qq/
I noticed that they are on the start order for Canadians, so they have not WD (at least at this point).Assume Makita and Gunara have retired? Or serious injury.
Paul's shoulder surgery was yesterday and his latest Instagram story shows his left arm in a sling with caption "Surgery went very smoothly ... back home now for recovery."Joint post by Fabbri/Ayer, written by Alicia, about their withdrawal from Nationals : https://www.instagram.com/p/CmHuq9Iv-qq/
I'd say they are also likely to miss 4CCs, if Molly Cesanek's recovery from her appendectomy last summer is any indication of the sort of recovery time Piper is facing.Gilles/Poirier have withdrawn from Canadians due to an appendectomy for Gilles, according to Skate Canada's press release: https://skatecanada.ca/2023/01/top-...canadian-tire-national-skating-championships/
