Glad to read Elvis' own comments in that Hamilton Spectator article. Also glad he's following the protocol and not rushing back onto the ice (even though I had tickets to the London show where he didn't skate). The show was great but I agree, could have used a the shot of adrenaline that Elvis always brings during his solo numbers. The group numbers, especially the men-only number, really missed him. Thank goodness that London was one of the venues that had Scott and Tessa! I enjoyed all of the skaters, but Patrick is always my highlight. Kurt gets better with age, I swear! And I was thrilled for Dylan and Lubov to be part of the cast this year.

If Elvis is not able to do the western part of the tour is there any chance they will ask Shawn Sawyer (crowd favourite) to join the tour?

As much as I would love to see Shawn for that last leg of the tour, it would be too short notice due to other commitments already made.

Too bad..His show programs are obviously ready as he just finished doing 2 numbers at a show in the US which apparently were really good.

Thanks for that memory! I was there too in Hamilton for '93 Canadians, and the atmosphere for the men's warm-up and final group was just electric. Bought a ticket from a scalper to upgrade my seat for the men's event, and it was so worth it. Hope Elvis has a quick recovery; it's great to see him and Kurt still out there doing what they love.

I was helping out at that event in the former CFSA office doing media accreditation an vividly remember watching the men's comp An the wow factor from the size of Elvis' jumps.

So enjoyed the tour this year.

I really love both programs of Kurt. Tower of Song is heart-wrenching yet beautiful and oh boy those masterful edges. The James Brown medley is so much fun and after this many years he still comes up new footwork? :cheer2:

Also I really love Kaetlyn's second number by Shae-Lyn. Patrick in shows are pure joy to watch. His two programs feel a bit same but since it's right before Olympics those subtle things can be forgiven. For Jeffrey while I'd love to see him skating to a program by some new choreographer, I still cannot help loving his new programs once again. I don't know how he can move his upper back like he does in the first program.

So glad Elvis managed to come back to the tour!

Also very curious who the standby was/were. The tour cast is already one-pair short, I wish they had just added them through to Vancouver, with Elvis.

Was lucky enough to attend CSOI in Winnipeg last night with my mom and skating coach. Great show, thoroughly enjoyed it. Not sure how it related to the theme of "Dreams", but didn't find it mattered. Quite clean in terms of jumps, no full out falls. Lubov put her hands down on one throw jump, and poor Elvis completely missed the takeoff of his backflip in the finale. He made a joke of it, so we all had a good chuckle. My top three highlights:

Kaetlyn: Girl is an absolute star.

We teared up during "Hallelujah", and whooped it up during "I Love It". Already so versatile and a wonderful fit in the group and and transitional numbers. She also landed a great big clean 3loop right in front of me. Gorgeous!

Lubov & Dylan: Major props to them for bringing the tech in their programs, especially the 3twist! Love their creative and innovative lifts and moves.

Kurt: Truly amazing edgework in "Tower of Song". Made my mom cry. :lol:

To me. he looked stronger and more agile than he has in years. The medley was quintessential Kurt, totally a riot. He can never quit SOI - it just won't be the same without him.

I'm 99.9% sure that Elvis's non-backflip in the finale is meant to be that joke; he did the same in Hamilton.

That is super....I hope they both completely sell out.......Shawn is dearly loved and his programs are always WOW..hope he does double cantilevers with Lubov. Maybe then next year he will be added..If it fills a lot of empty seats wouldn't it be worth it to add him?
