The best thing to ever happen to Chicago PD was Sophia Bush leaving (IMO) because for the first time in about two years, I was completely caught up in the entire show and didn't get bored and start doing something on my computer halfway through it. How nice it is when the rest of the cast actually gets to shine and be part of the story! :p We also officially have Antonio back in the Intelligence Unit (I knew it was coming but I'm still happy that it's official) and that makes me extremely happy since he's one of my fave characters (love me some Jon Seda....). All of this has me very excited to see where CPD is going this season. Really enjoyed their season premiere! :cheer:

TV shows are my happy place (that I desperately need at the moment) so I'm less than thrilled about Bush's exit because of all the pain it is causing Voight and Halstead.
I agree, that they were overplaying the Bunny angle and it became repetitive (although it did ring very true to how a relationship like this would place out) but I really didn't want Lindsay to go anywhere because of her and Halstead and her and Voight and what she meant to each of them.

I'm also not a big fan of Antonio. I generally prefer what would probably be called an "anti-hero" like Voight over the female equivalent of "Mary Sue" which they introduced Antonio as, in my opinion.

Haven't watched the premiere as I'm still making up my mind if I'll continue to watch or not ;)

Great News is way over the top, but I will stick with it. Nicole Ritchie may be the standout?
Superstore is stressing me out. Jerry is in a coma? Is Brett dead? I need answers!
I will save Good Place and Will and Grace for tomorrow night.
What happened to Chicago Med? If that comes back, I will be watching every show on NBC Thursday. Not since Must See TV days.

I cried like a baby during the finale of the Ken Burn's Vietnam War. I thought the docu-series was excellent. So many touching stories on both sides. I was especially touched by the stories of Denton W Crocker Jr, his family, Roger Harris, Musgrave, Vincent Sakamoto, Tim O Brien, Matt Harrison and many Vietnamese soldiers.

I watched The Good Doctor but I'm not sure if I'll bother with the 2nd episode. I felt clubbed over the head with a formula.

Poor kid has a hard life. Everyone is so mean. There are pure asshole people and pure saints with no in-betweens. Wooden boy with difficulty expressing emotions asks pointed personal questions that makes everyone have the big feels about their own humanity and meaning of existence. People get to look sappy, smug and self-righteous at each other as these big points are made. (barf, barf, barf).

Maybe I was just in a really crappy mood but all of it just ended up pissing me off. The more they tried to force me liking the main character the more determined I became to not like him.

I really liked it. I can't disagree with most of what you've said, but which tv shows are not comprised of pretty much full-on stock characters? The Good Doctor made me tear up on a few occasions and I like the mix of a young person being a savant but also dealing with autism. I like his blunt statements, a number of lines of his were something I've never heard a character really get into before. I'm looking forward to see how they deal with him in the future and how his thoughts affect his co-workers on a personal level.

Hopefully it will be on Netflix soon and I will be able to watch it. Have you ever read "Last Night I Dreamed Of Peace" by Dang Thuy Tram? If you haven't, I highly recommend it.

I agree with both of you. I enjoyed the pilot, but I did notice the stereotypical characters. I was pleased they didn't dwell too long on the childhood stuff. I don't watch too many medical shows, though, so I'm not sure I will stick with it. Haven't watched "The Brave" yet, which is on at the same time. I might not watch either one. I don't think I will keep watching "Navy Seals" either. If it lasts, I can easily wait on that one until it's on cable and I don't have anything else to watch.

I was surprised to enjoy Me, Myself and I as much as I did. Thought the writing was real strong and was glad to see that they didn't go with the standard "bickering family/kids" route and instead made both the new Dad and the new brother just people with an interesting quirk or two as everyone learns to adapt to their new nuclear family. Thought all three generations of the story was strong. Looking forward to see how this one progresses.

I tried to watch The Brave. But as it progressed, and it became clear that three of the main/featured characters were good guys who were both white and blonde-haired while the bad guys had dark skin, black hair and scraggly beards or "weird headgear"...I just couldn't take it. Fast-forwarded through the show to see the blonde lady and the blonde man save the blonde doctor. USA! USA! USA! :shuffle:

Most of them

I'm mostly disappointed with it because I had higher expectations when they said it was from the creators of House. I think I will give the 2nd episode a chance but they really need to up the quality if I'm going to stick with it.

Is the Inhumans show the tv spinoff for X-men or is that another show?

No. Inhumans are a separate storyline from the X-Men. Just don't ask me to explain the difference. I have no idea. :slinkaway

I know nothing about the comic, but why am I supposed to cheer on Inhunans who have slaves and sneer at humans.

Also, I am tired of aliens stealing stuff at stores. Whether it's Eggos or men's suits, I don't find it cute!

Inhumans is based on a comic series of its own so it's not really a spin-off. However, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has had inhumans a big part of their plots for awhile now so it feels like a spin-off. But none of the characters in the new Inhumans tv show have been on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Inhumans have a gene that if they are exposed to a certain alien compound called terrigen, they get powers. They call this process terrigensis. In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., humans exposed to the compound turn into a statue made out of something carbon-y and die but that doesn't happen in Inhumans. Nothing happens to them. They are just human.

X-men are mutants. They are humans whose genes have mutated to give them powers (or sometimes just weirdnesses like a frog tongue). It actually doesn't really make sense scientifically -- that humans would randomly mutate in so many different and dramatic ways -- but the powers and characters are cool so I ignore that part. :D

Inhumans and X-men live in different comic book universes and are not related.

Ah right. I do remember the inhumans on Agents of Shield. I lost interest in it and stopped watching it around the time they were introduced.

Just looked it up again. The Gifted is the X-men spinoff. I think I have the series scheduled to record. I'll give it a shot because the mutant powers make for a fun set of characters. I ignore the science too. :)

I don't know if this has been discussed here or not, but I am quite sad that this will be the last season of The Middle. Loved the show since the beginning. At least, they can go out on their own terms. I given up on Eden Sher ever getting an Emmy Nomination.
