2015 - 2016 TV Season

So far, I'm loving OUAT 5B! Two out of two which focused on the core characters. Hopefully they can keep up that track record!

Wasn't so thrilled with the latest Lucifer episode. It was a bit too ordinary for my taste. And too much human emotions/too much focus on it. I'd rather explore him for a while longer than his relationship and feelings towards others, at least, in such depths. Looking forward to seeing how the Maze/Amenadiel angle will play out though.

(and do we need a new thread, considering we're past the 1,000 post mark?)

Who else is loving Full Frontal? Very Daily-Show-esque, in the best possible way, with her own unique style and spin on things. Plus swearing! :D

Thank you, TBS, for giving her the show. And for allowing it to be on YouTube -- as far as I can tell, full episodes. :cheer2:

I watched season 4 of Luther last night. Well, if you can call it a "season" at only 2 episodes. All the elements we've come to expect in Luther, condensed into a tight 2 hours. Very satisfying.

I really liked Emma Lane, the new DS, though Rose Leslie will always be "Gwen" from Downton in my eyes. But
I missed Alice. I know Ruth Wilson has been busy with other things -- like The Affair -- but I would have liked to see her, even if in a flashback or similar. I wonder if she really is dead or if they'll figure a way to bring her back.

it's going to be a long 13 weeks until I have all the episodes on my DVR and can finally start watching. I HAVE to binge-watch this show, it's so good, I just can't stand wait a whole week between episodes.

I did that with Friday Night Lights reruns. I recorded them every week (Longhorn Network, natch - and ESPN Classic) and then waited and watched 3 or 4 at a time on cold or rainy Sunday afternoons, while adding another each week. Some of the channels skipped around episodes so I had to write down the titles and original broadcast dates in order! Obsessed much? :-) I still have 5 left in the final season. I don't want to watch them and have them be gone. Silly.

It is early but I am loving the look of CM: Beyond Borders. :cheer2:

I thought it was okay. Liked the team dynamic between Clara, Mae and Matt. Not entirely sold on Sinise yet. He somehow seemed a little stiff in comparison to the others.
Interesting though that de la Garza's character again seems to have lost a husband fairly recently just like on Forever. Poor woman. ;)

I love Daredevil but can this guy win a fight every now and then?! Right now it is episode 3 and he lost his 2nd fight and is chained up. He is looking like just another nut job in underwear. LOL

^ I didn't mind the Jess turnaround, it could easily have happened that way and it only came off as artificial because the writing was so bad and they tried to cram it all into 1 episode. But please yes no Rory-Jess matching, that's just lazy.

Meh, I always thought Jess was a liberal arts girl's fantasy who in real life would just be an awful person to be with.
Oh that's funny. I'm actually not at the end of Season 2 yet (the show was always on my "to watch" list, especially back in the way when I'd browse Blockbuster to rent series), and that's exactly what annoys me about him. I'll bet anything that if I'd watched the show when it was on or even 10 years ago I would have been all swoony over him, but now? Nah.

No "new/returning shows on t.v. this week" post?

Every time I have seen the commercial for Heartbeat (starts this Weds. 8 p.m., NBC), I want to mention that the world class surgeon who is the star is the same actress who played Meredith's friend who dropped out of the intern program at Seattle Grace because she was terrible. Weird coincidence.

For anyone wanting to get into 'Outlander', the first season is available for free on the Starz website! Unfortunately, it sounds like it's only for US citizens, but I'm sure there is a way around that. I think it's available until April 10th! http://www.starz.com/originals/outlander/episodes

Edit: Going along with the Gilmore Girls discussion, I seriously can't stand Jess. He's an annoying, miserable jerk and I just do not see anything appealing there. Yes, he likes books but that's not enough to make up for how rude he is to Lorelai (which I really would think should bother Rory more) and to everyone in general who isn't Rory. I'm on season 5 right now and I really hope Rory doesn't end up with him in the revival.

Finished Daredevil season 2 and loved it! I do have some problems with it but the show was still fun. There ware times when the blood and gore was a bit much. I also enjoyed all the supporting characters more than the main character.

SPOILERS

I loved Foggy, Electra, The Punusher, Karen but the Daredevil himself was a bit less fascinating. I am happy with the way it ended with everyone going their own way especially Foggy! I can hardly wait to see, now that he works for Hogarth, if he appears in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist!!! Could he be the link between all these characters and gets The Defenders together?! Being a reporter fits Karen really well! Nice to see the Kingpin make an appearance.

Now for the bad...
1) The Punusher had The Daredevil tied up for hours and the two had long conversations, but when he becomes a client, he never recognizes Matt's voice?!
2) The Daredevil comes across as the worst friend ever. His co-workers/friends do all the work, he takes partial credit which allows him do his super hero thing yet he does not seem to realize or care about how important they are. They also not to mention have scraped him off the floor after a beating and put him together again many times. Foggy runs around from building to building looking for him after yet another fight in which he goes missing. But he never visits Foggy after he is injured. Claire gets into trouble at work and then quits her job because she helped him. Yet they only get attitude instead of gratitude.
3) There were too many bad guys this season. It was hard to keep them all straight and to keep track of who is doing what.
4) The kid in the shipping container from last season was mentioned but then dropped. There is a big hole in the ground and a train car filled with sand which were also not explained.
5) None of the bad guys seemed to be that developed or important. They all come and go quite frequently this season.
