I think they are either going to get really close pretty soon or this will become a cold case. If it’s not someone close to Nancy or the family, it’ll take longer to figure out suspects.

I believe it took them 45+ days to figure out and then find Bryan Kohberger after the 2022 University of Idaho murders.

The state case (New York v. Luigi Mangione) is still active and includes murder charges. Those charges also carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Update (United States v. Luigi Mangione): The federal prosecutors won’t be appealing the judging decision. The federal trial is expected to begin in September. The state (New York v. Luigi Mangione) trial is expected to begin in June.
