anyway I think it's a great sp in every way and this post just reminded me that she started selling some merch so I'll go buy a t-shirt from her

Oh yes, I saw on her stories yesterday along with the dance of Christina and Caroline that Amber has a store.

Now, now, now, what have I always said about the kiss and cry …. that if it were me there, I would have my merch stand right there as well for everyone to see. Amber and I are thinking more and more like. Lol

You gotta come at this from multiple angles, I say. Ill support her and purchase a shirt I think today.

Agreed, but even the unleveled choreographic sequences don’t seem to fit the music .

I actually think Glenn’s SP steps fit the music about as much as anything does these days.

I really like the program despite being more of a Levito fan.

I'm not so sure if they have to do them? IDK, not gonna look at the soporofic rules (especially if there's been yet another change ) - but there's been a 'full body movement' requirement in steps for long. So my sense has been that skaters put these in between clusters so they look like they have some actual choreo in between those clusters, and they'd knock out those full body movement requirements too, without necessarily doing them during the clusters (which is both harder and uglier).

Take it with a grain of salt, because again. Not gonna look at the rules to see how much of this tracks. Because no.

After seeing Emilia’s glorious triple Axel just now and her run up edge I refuse to acknowledge people who say that Ambers or any other women have a long preparation time.

This is normal and standard, it’s not like you’re going from a falling leaf directly into a triple axel.

Amber and Emilia and Alexa everyone’s edge and prep Work to the triple axel is normal and fine!

It's not the run-up edge there as much as how she starts staring down at the spot she will be jumping, and drawing her hands up visibly for a few moments before she reaches it. It's just practice though.

Every year I keep hoping to see Sherry Zhang really shine on the JGP. Only to have my hopes dashed. She is too good a skater and so talented in so many ways. Wonder if her training time is still limited due to her family situation? Continued injury? Anybody have intel??

Feel exactly the same - she makes me think of Camden - someone so appealing and watchable but you just know the jumps are not gonna be there.

I agree. She seems to have very clean, Michelle Kwan-like jump technique. If there were one thing she needs to work on though is that she needs to improve the spring in her jumps just a little bit and then I think she will land her jumps cleanly more often.

Well, she used to. She seems to have developed a flutz and an underrotation habit.

Her basic skating is lovely, though.

I really enjoyed both JGP Ankara short programs of Sofia and Sophie. Honestly both brought me to tears…and I can’t recall a junior short program ever affecting me emotionally. I’m amazed at how Sofia is channeling the loss of her coach and best friend in the plane crash into her skating so effectively. And Malinina Skornikov working the jumps into consistency. I have a few other skaters I sure wish would move training base there. Nitpick to Sofia….no cankle tights please!

I had a feeling Sophie would have a less than stellar free skate. Everyone was skating lights out ahead of her. Then she came out to watch the skater before her from Japan who won. Maybe only Ilia can get away with that and keep in a good headspace. She has improved so much presentation wise this year. Of course much more to do, but she is exciting!

I just wish Sophie would scale back the jumps in her LP and get a few clean skates under her belt. Maybe at least take out one of the 3 axels and just do a 2a she's skating in Juniors and doesn't need all of those C elements unless she's facing Shimada.

I agree with everything you said in your post, but then again, we are the moral center of this group

Sophie look like a different person 24 hours later. I was also able to tell more in the free program It seems she’s skating in arena just by herself. She still does not present to an audience at all, even though she seemed to in the short program.

It’s a shame, Every difficult element she fell, or stepped out of.

She was great. The choreography blended beautifully. That combo spin in the middle was everything and should've had +5 GOE.

I haven't looked at the protocols, but all three of her triples looked "q" to me, the loop maybe even UR. I do like the choreography and positions she hits, but to me it comes off more "well rehearsed" than organically balletic.
