Most figure skating fans see ice dance and once they get over the lack of jumps, they learn Twizzles is when they spin on one leg, edges is something they do and the lifts are the fun/scary part.

At FSU, we start from there and go all the way to real ice dancers. I’ve counted seconds a lift was held, admired wonderful edges and pointed toes and look for that deep knee. But sometimes for fandom, it’s about the choreography finding the spirit of a piece and being skated pleasingly.

I just wanted to say that and that I hear your frustration and I get it every time any of the tech geeks get frustrated by us no-tech or semi-tech fans. Heck, I’ve wanted to say that for a long time to some of y’all. I worked in IT for 35 years! I get it. I also so I love being here because the tech folks have really taught me a lot the last few decades and I depend on y’all and apologize if I frustrate you because I believe that powering down is the same as just turning the machine off with the button.

No, what I think is that people would recognize both far more easily than the lyrical snot instrumental pieces that a lot of these teams love to use because they grew up loving PapCiz. None of those teams are at the same level of PapCiz who could elevate the blandest of elevator music into something mesmerizing. What I'm seeing today are the fans responding to character-driven or clear storyline programs - 007, Cruella, ACL... And we know they're going to go through the roof for Dune & Carmen in this next group. Pick stuff that the will get the audience invested in your program & sell the hell out of it.

The neutral I didn’t care one way another prize goes to Fabbri-Ayer: I just felt meh about them.

Endless music award to Lim-Quan: too many cuts made the whole thing feel like it lasted an hour. I thought it would never be over.
