Jesse Jackson has died.

I remember going to see him speak locally when he ran for POTUS. Even back then he had already lived through such tumultuous times when it came to civil rights and equality for black Americans. He fought the good fight. RIP

The local rumors going around say it was an outing of moms with kids on the same ski team. There are lots of questions over why they went into the backcountry when storm and avalanche warnings had been out for several days, and why they didn't stay in the ski huts after the blizzard hit. It would be tragic regardless, but feels even more so when it seems there several missed chances to avoid this disaster.
