LMAO. This is such a joke of a response from someone who clearly didn't take a look at the protocols. The judges gave it to ChanHowe on GOE. If not for a horror show SP, the judges would have given it to ChanHowe - and the GOE told that story loud & clear. Keep trying.

Karen, I'm not going to once again go back and forth with you when you clearly do have a big hatred for a team, presumably because your constant nationalism means their losing a third spot is the end of the world.

As it was, a successful lift in the free skate for Shin and Nagy and they had the Olympic ticket. It's that cut and dry.

The height and delay on Zhang and Huang’s throws are . I hadn’t noticed this team before (I don’t watch juniors) but they have some lovely qualities.

ZhaHua - 3tw - excellent; SBS 3t+1a+2a - his landing on the 3a was messy, gonna be reviewed; SBS 3a - meh; throw 3f - beautiful; first lift - really difficult entry & nicely done; FODS - ugh, another ugly blade grab; this music is depressing; second lift - really nice; throw 3lo - fabulous; weird stumble from her on the transition into the last lift - which was fine; choreo seq - meh; combo spin - alright.

This will keep them ahead of LaurEth, for sure, but that program was just uninspired, even if all the elements were well done save the SBS jumps.

I actually still feel sorry for the completely wrong call on Sui/Han in their first GP, which would've given this team the bronze over them and the lead in the Olympic race. Obviously Nationals was going to play out however the Fed wanted it, but still. They are lovely.

Both of her 2A were done with no momentum and I think they may have actually been rotated but most likely not. 3T was << though, came out forward.

Program still doing nothing for me, and I still don't see any connection between them. At all.

I know there are a million reasons why this wouldn’t be fair overall but it would be nice if there was a ‘free spot’ for a reigning champion to come back to the Olys. Then Cizeron and Sui/Han could have come back without the younger skaters who have worked the whole quad losing out.

Tony, you are being dishonest if you are unwilling to recognize that your logic is faulty with regard to what caused ShiNagy to lose out on an Olympic spot. Sure, had it not been for a botched lift, they would have gone. But the opposite argument for ChanHowe is equally true - but not for a horror show SP, it wouldn't have been close between them & either ShiNagy or McBark for the bronze at Nationals.

And, no, your response that it was "home free" for ShiNagy save that botched lift and the judges would have given it to them doesn't give me the impression you reviewed the protocols. As I said, and you've failed to address, once again, because you have no defense of your position, the GOE told the story. ChanHowe beat ShiNagy in the FS at Nats because of GOE, which is fully within the judges control. Perhaps you should amend your statement to read "the tech panel was going with them..." since their BV was a tiny bit higher than ChanHowe, but the argument that the judges were giving it to ShiNagy is absurd.

I love the last section of Efimova and Mitfofanov’s program - it just sweeps, from the entrance to the death spiral, her exquisite position while in it, seamless exit, and on to the choreo sequence with that lovely slide at the end creates a first rate moment.

Solid program - better than Nats, so that's good for them to build upon going into Worlds.

That should be a medal for Y/M, they’ve improved a ton over the past 2 years. Seems like throws remain an issue for them, hopefully their new coaching team can help them work that out.

NagaMori - let's see if they can finally keep their shit together for the FS outside of Japan... 3tw - bit backward lean on the landing; SBS 3lo+2a+2a - excellent; SBS 3t - nicely done; first lift - good; throw 3lo - two-footed & forward landing; combo spin - fine; throw 3s - fall; second lift - nice; BODS - fine; last lift - quite nice; choreo seq - bit hinky getting up into the dance lift.

I wonder how they're going to fare if/when the proposed changes to the Pairs FS come into effect next season and one of the SBS jumping passes is eliminated. Probably better than a lot of other teams because he's just such a beast with the lifts. Also, they need a better program - this one's snoozy.
