The stream came up live for the Opening Ceremonies which included the ISU President and now there are some "cultural performances" as I think Ted described it. There will be a resurfacing before the Men get underway.
They are obviously not adhering to the detailed time schedule for the Men's competition.

The start will be about 15 minutes behind the published schedule, per Ted.

This buggy audio in the stream is driving me nuts.
There have been brief episodes of "buffering" (circle spinning mid-screen) ever since the broadcast began, including during the ISU President's speech. I suspect it is an issue to do with their technology on site.

Agree. It's continued through the first few skaters - and right on cue... Another buffering episode, lol.

Buffering and freezing makes it hard to watch, for sure :(

So far so good after it froze for a couple of minutes. My guess is they rebooted something on their end (or it finally crapped out and rebooted itself for them).

Edit: ARGHHHH!!!! I jinxed it by complementing it.

I don't envy Mark, who is supposed to be joining in during the Women SP, if he is getting the same glitchy stream that we continue to get, including a buffering and freezing of the first skater in the 2nd group :(

After 2 of 4 groups, there is an ice resurfacing.

Blackwell

smoothest 3a landing I've seen from him, back to the rough landing on 3z-3t combo (tight and saved), wobbly moment in step sequence. Small problems but alright overall, good energy

Well, I fell back asleep after the first group so I missed Mori, Krouglov and half of Farrington or the men currently in the top 6. Unfortunately, the stream only let me rewind back about 30 minutes - I presume because of the constant buffering issues, etc. Hopefully I'll be able see the other guys in the top 6 once the individual links are up. If not, oh well.

Farrington was quite nice, but yes, he'll definitely need the 3A. Blackwell was his usual, slightly wild self. Seo was his usual self as well.

Whoa. When did Supatashvili sprout up? I don't recall in him being this tall in previous seasons.

I just noticed that the clipped videos of the individual skaters is on YouTube at 50 FPS, but the stream was at 60 FPS. I think all of the problems with the stream today might have been caused by them trying to feed a 50 FPS source into a 60 FPS stream.

Edit: never mind, the woman's SP is also a 60 FPS live stream, and it doesn't seem plagued by the same issues.

Missed men earlier, so I'm catching up. I'm only on Felix Haoyu Zeng, but I'm delighted to see Stefan Lindemann back as a coach, and that now in middle age, he looks even MORE like a hobbit! He has attained his true form.

Krouglov is wearing a fitbit, or some sort of smartwatch?? Gotta make sure he gets his steps in. (kinda hope he falls on it and breaks it)

Back to back American boys: don't think I've seen Caleb before, but he's lovely! Hope he can get that 3A soon.

Blackwell has a great 3A, and he's usually a little too messy for me, but he actually seems to be improving his control - enjoyed his SP.

Patrick Blackwell: good job, great attack. Caleb Farrington, gorgeous!

Love everything about Minkyu Seo.

Yes, Caleb really needs to get his 3A. I remember seeing on IG (before he all but deleted his account) that it’s just not quite consistent enough to put in his layout. He’s got a nice 4T though, so hopefully he'll be able to hold his own tomorrow. He’s not yet gotten a positive GoE on it in competition, but I've seen it in person and it looks nice most of the time.

Edit: actually, I did a little light FB stalking and found a public post by his father (who I've met at the rink, so it's not that creepy) with a clip of him practicing his 4T in Baku. Let's see if he can land it tomorrow when it counts.

I'm not sure how to link to just the video, so that's his whole post to friends and family by the looks of it. I didn't want to just steal it and re-upload somewhere else.
