2024 - 2025 NFL Training Camps, Roster Changes and the return of Swifties

If you would have told me back when the Bengals couldn't get out of their own way earlier this season that they'd still have a chance to make the playoffs by week #17, I would have laughed SO HARD at that statement, but here we are in that week and I'm just shaking my head at how they got to this point. Whether they make the playoffs or not, I'm actually very proud of them for fighting back when they seemed very down and out not too long ago. Can't say my team doesn't have any fight left in them! :respec:

And the first things that this team needs to focus on in the off season are to sign Jamarr Chase and Tee Higgins to extensions and fix the crap out of the defense (i.e. figure out who's worth keeping and who needs to go ASAP).
They need to beat the Steelers next weekend! :D

Oh yes @once_upon , we watched every minute of both games.

Our streaming was awful for both games. Reading comments on both NFL and Netflix Facebook pages and their websites other people had major problems too.

We streamed by three different - Roku, Smart TV, and Hulu.

I had to quit watching Houston game I just felt awful for them. B was difficult to hear and see. I felt really sad, I heard it was great.

Though my broadcast was fine I am hearing many complaints. And yet I think Netflix is here to stay:

Also...don't put plays in here generally but from the day he became a starter Mahomes has these moments that leave me in awe. I think most QB's have them and you wonder how they improvise and NOT get a turnover:

Oh Netflix is here to stay for sure. They need to improve their lives streaming response though. I equate it to Ice Network some had great streaming some did not. They need to find out what Peacock has done to their live streaming.

I can't see the play - was it a behind the back pass?
If it is that pass play - I saw it live at a pre season event vs the Lions in August. It was freaking awesome

No...it was when he tossed it to Perrine who was on the ground and not looking at him. And Pat tossed it to him. It was no, no, no, no--YES. And he does that stuff a lot.

@once_upon I think Andy Reid dressed as Santa after the game. The Netflix post-game showed someone tall in a Santa suit coming into the locker room talking about home field advantage.

I had some issues with watching the recap later. Netflix has not had the best luck with its live sporting events lately. Major glitches for the Paul-Tyson fight too. I hope they get that fixed soon if they're going to continue doing live events like this.

The Commandets-Falcons game is aging me. So many stupid penalties.
I love the ease of how Jaden runs....almost seems like he is normal speed but sees everyone in slow motion. He escapes so well. The penalties do stink but don't seem as bad in the second half.

OMG....another uber close game. Looks like Atlanta has found their qb. Last year's class is stellar.

Hail to the Commanders! That was a nail biter. Penalties nearly drove me nuts. Kept me awake way too late.

I’ll root for you guys when mine lose in the playoffs. My first jock crush was Fran Tarkenton but you’re probably young to remember him.
I actually saw Fran Tarkenton play vs Chicago Bears in the early 60s. I was about 4 so I don’t really remember, but my brother told me it was my first NFL game.

Come back to rooting for your hometown team, they've been slightly less stressful this season! ?

I stopped rooting for them when they hired the dog torturer, but even before that, I’ve lived in DC since 1978! PRkid’s first onesie was burgundy and gold.

I saw him play in the ‘70s against the Eagles when I was still living in Philly. And his SNL appearance was so funny, I still remember that.

Football usually has some physical fighting during plays - like shoving or trash talk - which may result in more aggressive actions. But it seems in the last 4-5 weeks it'$ been more. In both NFL and NCAA. Do you think it's because the season is long and by the end bodies are just hurting too bad, the press/media are emphasising it more, or other things?

I'm not sure - has anyone else notice this? Or am I just focusing more on intensity of players and fans as playoffs and Superbowl approaches? I do know for certain that some teams add bonuses for each playoff game - above and beyond their season contracts.

Everyone making a big deal about Mahomes not playing this week and how he needed to heal or how Carson needed to be familiar with the team?

Has everyone forgotten about Brittney's due date? Has everyone forgotten he said after Christmas Day win, now let's have the baby?

Sheesh. My best bet is not a needed rest from injury but they have a newborn or will have one by inducing labor this week.

That Minnesota--Green Bay game was good. And the Vikings at Detroit should be the game of the week next week.

It's going to be showcased on Sunday Night Football. Wasn't supposed to be originally, but it is considered THE must watch game of the final regular season weekend. So much riding on the outcome. Both teams want that No. 1 seed BAD.

After watching the Lions-49ers game on Monday night, Detroit's defense is more than just suspect, it's like Swiss cheese. This is a very winnable game for my Vikes. Which is probably why they'll lose.

As an aside... I was saddened to hear of the passing of Bryant Gumbel. I remember hearing him call many a game when I was young.

I saw Dan Campbell say "It's not a play-off game." It kinda is though.

Yeah. It's going to be our toughest test of the season, for sure, because we're not going to be in the friendly confines of the Bank. This is the do-or-die moment when we prove that the 14-2 record isn't a fluke. I know we're going to the playoffs regardless, but a win means we get to rest for a week, then play at home, while a loss means we're going to Tampa Bay. It's absolutely ridiculous how the seedings work, IMO. A 14-win team is going to be the 5th seed. That's just stupid.
