The US might get a second entry once the remaining quota places are reallocated but as NBC explained (or avoided trying to LOL) on their broadcast this process seems confusing so I guess we'll have to wait.

I did a little digging and it seems that there are 5 more spots that should be allocated by the end of this month. They go by the 2024 Worlds which were in February, and they basically go down the list of divers which haven't already qualified. The 5 next in line (spots 14 to 18 at Worlds) appear to be North Korea, 2 Italy spots, Austria, and South Korea. Joshua Hedberg finished 19th, so if any of those above spots don't get used, Brandon Loschiavo would then go (since he finished higher than Hedberg at the Trials). What is all kind of ridiculous is that Loschiavo finished 8th at that same Worlds, so it would seem he should already qualify.... but that is only how they earned their first spot since their results at 2023 Worlds were so poor so they got none of the 12 spots allocated there. So to get the 2nd spot, they need to get all the way down to Hedberg's result. I agree that would have been way too much to explain on tv/peacock, but they could have just said US 2nd spot (Loschiavo) is 1st alternate if one of the other countries doesn't use their likely to be allocated spots. And I really have no idea if Italy gets both those spots or can only earn 1 of those 2.

I actually wonder if North Korea will use a reallocated spot. It sounds like Italy will get both of those spots reading the Wiki article you linked.

It looks like the USA should get a 2nd spot for the Women's 10m platform once reallocation is complete. There are 7 spots to be reallocated (spots 13, 15 and through 20 - #14 Germany already has 2 from 2023 Worlds) with Japan, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Ukraine, Italy, Cuba and the USA lined up.

The US Men are a lot more competitive internationally in the 3 meter than the 10 meter, so while a second spot for 10M would be nice for the athlete, if we don't get the second spot I'd hardly be heartbroken.
