Gymnastics #24 - The Road to Paris

every time I read an article about the upcoming event, it has a different list of information of TV broadcast channels, dates and times. is there an Official TV Broadcast list that is actually correct? even my Online cable guide thing doesn't match up. I don't want to miss anything.

this is the official usag post

Basically all junior competitions (about 1:30 pm cdt each day except day 4 with will be 12:45) will be on usag's youtube channel and the evening senior stuff (7pm cdt for men and 6:45 then 5:45 for women group 2) will be live on Peacock with tape delay on cnbc later (day 2 senior men will also be live on cnbc and day 2 senior women group 2 will be live on nbc)

My stupid kid has a stupid baseball game tomorrow during the men. (Just kidding, he's adorable and I love watching)

Anyone know if on Peacock I save it to my stuff will I be able to watch it on delay?

Depends - with skating the replay is usually available for 48 hrs.

Some things I read on Twitter about the senior women's podium training today if anyone wants some random info:

*Skye did a Cheng on the VT
*Trinity did a DTY for her vault
*Suni's UB routine sounds insanely hard and her coach said that it's not even her full routine yet
*Simone's Cheng has apparently gotten even better since last year (I saw a video and it was SO high and clean!)
*The girls who all did good at Classics apparently looked pretty good during podium training today (not much else specific that I saw but I may have missed some things)

That high bar moment in the men's training is going to give me nightmares.....how the heck does THAT happen?! :yikes:

I am SO happy that I have a pretty uneventful weekend coming up (I am doing a 10K on Saturday morning but will be home in time for all the live coverage that day) and plan to watch all the coverage from the championships. It's been a long time since both the men's and women's competitions were this stacked with so much potential and talent! :cheer:

Probably... I can still watch the Core Classic on my Peacock. I guess NBC likes gymnastics better than skating. (I know they claim it's copyright" but.. .I don't buy it, there's no "free 24 hour" copyright exception LOL!)

I am really rooting for Skye. She is just so lovely when she hits. A usable Cheng is a big plus, and her beam is top 3 if she can be consistent over the next two comps. The big problem with Suni and Skye on the same team is the hole in floor. I think there are 3 candidates for floor specialist, but really only two that are usable on other events, Jade and Kayla diCello. Kayla had a rough Classics but if she can hit her I would take her over Jade since she is an AA gymnast. I wish we could send 7, so many deserve it. I am afraid we may end up with similar alternates to Tokyo, which is going to be heartbreaking for them.

i'll never be a brody malone fan tim daggett bless your little heart but he did do very well

Yeah, Tim being like "you better be a brody malone fan now" and I'm like "I don't think you get my problem."

I think he'll 100% be on the team, and it will make sense score wise, but I do like many others better. I'm sad that Fred Young is not in good shape this year. I love him, Khoi Young, and Asher Hong.

I'm hoping all of them are looking stronger by trials. Maybe this is just smart pacing???

lol jk i know they are all a little headcasey tbh but also they are young. Khoi back flopping off on pommels surely can't happen a second time right?

This men's team selection is going to be insane from start to finish with all that talent and randomness. I was super impressed with how solid Brody looked overall after everything he went through with his knee and up until pommel, I thought Yul looked really strong too (IMO, that fall was a total fluke and result of him going pretty hard on those flairs and losing his grip on the one side of the pommel). I think some of the guys like Asher, Khoi, Frederick, and Shane are all going to get stronger and stronger as this process goes on and honestly, I don't really want anyone to look perfect here at Nats. They need to be at their strongest for the Olympics so I'm not opposed to them pacing themselves to be much stronger at Trials and then rock solid for the actual Olympics. The puzzle that is the men's team is going to be so fascinating because there are SO many different ways it can be put together! :yikes: :COP::cheer2:

Looking forward to the women’s events tonight & Sunday on Peacock. Sorry that it didn’t work out for Gabby. She can try to beat Chusovitskaya on the age spectrum!
