This was Anne’s Primary Job for the Coronation ??I didn't see Anne today. Was she on the balcony?
Photo shows it was Kate and Sophie in front of her blocking her.No I think he was upfront more. Maybe Edward.
I don’t think Kate was ever seen as unsuitable. Maybe some really posh people didn’t like her roots but a lot of the aristocratic girls my understanding is didn’t want to Date William and be Queen.I know many identical stories. Unfortunately, many people are too dependent on the opinions of others. And not everyone is able to withstand this pressure. After all, Elizabeth and Philip were clearly not the only ones who considered Camila an unsuitable bride at that time. Were they ready to overcome it then? I think no. After all, Kate wasn't the most suitable bride either, and they weren't always together either.
In any case, I think the Charles and Diana case taught the royal family a lot.
Because there was a “suspicion” that they could potentially cause a breach of the peace. Those are the words straight from the horses mouth:I would like to understand why some protesters were arrested.
That's pretty horrifying. Feels like the Minority Report film.Because there was a “suspicion” that they could potentially cause a breach of the peace. Those are the words straight from the horses mouth:
Guess they never repealed all those anti-terrorism laws that were once used against suspected IRA members. The same ones that allowed (allows?) them to hold suspects for days without recourse to legal advice or reviewing holding them in custody.Posting in here so as not to rain on anyone’s parade, but this is very disturbing police behaviour in a democracy.

And people were wondering in the other thread why she wasn't sitting in the front row.

She was. Her red feather blocked Harry's view in some photos. He was in the 3rd row directly behind. And people were wondering in the other thread why she wasn't sitting in the front row.![]()
I mean aren't big hats the norm for royal events? To be expected really.I think it is pretty hard to be too upset at a 5 year old yawning during a 2 hour long serious service.
I noticed the plume in Anne's hat too and wondered if that was on purpose due to Harry's current placement in the RF. I think it is a tad rude for someone to wear a really tall hat that blocks the person sitting behind's view. The same thing happened at the Academy Award ceremonies. Some woman was wearing a HUGE white hat and too bad for the person behind her.
Sad that Harry left so soon after the coronation and did not visit his family. They must be really on the outs so to speak. On the other hand maybe the coronation is not the time because there is so much media and activity surrounding it. Also, Harry was not kind to Camilla in his book and during the Oprah interview.
As it should be. That's the makings of a good leader, in my opinion.Charles looks so uncomfortable and burdened by that crown.
Anne's hat was part of her Colonel's uniform. She was correct to wear it in the Abbey.I noticed the plume in Anne's hat too and wondered if that was on purpose due to Harry's current placement in the RF. I absolutely loved the dress and hat Lady Louise wore. Quietly growing up away from the spotlight for the most part, I thought she looked so age appropriate and eye-catching. Princess Charlotte also looked so charming. I have great hope for this next generation of royals.Better to sit behind that blessed red feather than behind Katy Perry's hat. And I reckon everyone should be thanking Lady Louise and her hat hiding Prince Andrew from certain angles![]()
The daughter of Prince Edward & Sophie, newly minted Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh.Uh, who’s Lady Louise?
I am sure that someone did consider the issue very carefully before deciding what Anne should wear and who should be assigned the seat directly behind her.Not Anne's fault but it would seem someone should have considered the issue with the plume on the hat for whoever sat there.
Yes, she is 19 years old now but was born very prematurely due to placental abruption. She also had esotropia, an eye condition that caused one of her eyes to turn in. The first surgery was not successful but the second one was. She shares the Windsors great love of horses and has taken a keen interest in her grandfathers sport of carriage driving. He left his green wagon and two horses to her.The daughter of Prince Edward & Sophie, newly minted Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh.
She also fell in love with Philip when she was quite young, and she was of a different generation, not to mention, divorce was NEVER an option for the woman who was Supreme Governor of the Church of England. It was a totally different dynamic between Elizabeth and Philip than what existed for Charles and Diana.I think people are also built of different stuff. Queen Eliz found it easy to stay happily married to Philip despite him having occasional affairs (rumored he loved ballerinas). She probably thought Charles and Diana could be happy with a similar arrangement.
Now that she's a little older, I'm under the impression that she really enjoys these kind of events in the sense that she loves the dresses and the carriages etc. Kind of like other girls her age play princess, she gets to be one. (Although, I'm sure she finds the ceremonies just as boring as a child her age would (and a number of adults probably do as well)).Just saw clips of the coronation concert. Charlotte is adorable.
Doubtful. If he was on the flight out of Heathrow as reported, then he would have arrived around 6 or 7 pm LA time, then still had to get to the Santa Barbara area, about an hour and a half away (unless he took a helicopter lol, you never know), arriving hom close to 9 pm. If there was a birthday party it would have been long over, and Archie would probaby have been in bed.I have read that Harry's reason for his quick return to the US was to be with Archie on his 4th birthday. As good a reason as any.
