The Amber Glenn Realness Appreciation Fan Page

Best wishes to Amber in Sapporo this week! She has shared a 3A practice clip in her Instagram stories earlier today.

This is cool :cool::
I was hoping she was still
As Karen and I were talking about NHK is going to be stacked but she’s skating really well this season and hoping she does really well there ❤️
I was hoping she was still working in 3A! Hope she lands one solidly in both her programs or at least the long.

She was hosed. I would have her in 3rd after the SP, despite the hiccup on the landing of the 3L. Those jumps were probably the best of the evening

I love that at skate America when they’re taking their victory lap she goes up to the fans, someone handed her the pride flag and asked if she would take a photo with it which she happily agreed to

Then when she handed them the American flag I love that she said “don’t let it touch the ground“

i’m such a germAfobe these days I wouldn’t go within 10 feet of fans or touch door knobs still or anything. Lol I take my Medal and leave to hotel, lol and I would say bye Andrea, peace out. Lol

I love this video clip, Amber is amazing

The elements are well done, and she is consistent enough throughout the season - I almost wonder why the judges are not rewarding her more. Is it the sameness in style? She is obviously into power ballads and is feeling these programs - but perhaps the judges want to see a different side of her? Relatively lacking in in-betweens?

I honestly don't know what the answer is for her to go to the next level.

Mathieu Caron's video/IG post today (he created Amber's SP costume): https://www.instagram.com/p/CpkbSpIg0i3/
Trust Yourself, Trust your Power and Trust your Intuition.

The costume must above all reveal the personality and « super power » of an athlete, even if they are playing a character.
We had so much fun creating this leotard for @amberglenniceskater .
The curved lines of paint and stones that run through her body amplify Amber’s movements and give way to her spirit, her personality.
Amber, you are amazing!

Amber finished 12th (188.33) of 35 in her Worlds debut - 10th in SP (65.52), 14th in FS (122.81).

Copying out Amber's quotes from the ISU Quick Quotes document (SP group 4 & FS group 3):

My [SP] performance today was not terrible. I have had a very difficult couple weeks just leading in – just out of
nowhere accidents and coincidences that could have prevented me from being here, but I made it and held
myself together pretty well. There were some hiccups that I wasn't happy about today, but on to the free
skate. (on the Free Skating) Honestly, same as today, just to keep things together as well as I can, have a
good time, and to throw my best performance out that I can under crazy situations. (about going for the
triple Axel in the free skate) I believe so, it's really hard to say, Yesterday my boot started to give out on me
so right now, it is very difficult for me to push off of my left ankle for my (Axel) takeoffs. I will go to the boot
repair place and see if I can get that fixed. Hopefully if that’s resolved then, I’ve done thousands of triple
Axels before so I don’t see why not.

After her FS:
(on how her left boot issue before the short program, along with other recent injuries, affected her performances here)
The left boot was modified with a plate on the outside. It just gave out the day of my short program. It’s a little bit better
but that, along with taking a bad fall the other week, getting an MRI – that’s why my right knee is all taped up. Last
Saturday, I got a chemical burn in my right eye and spent 3 hours in the E.R. It’s just been one thing after another and
I’m just happy I made it, that I’m here, I survived. Of course it (free skate today) wasn’t what I wanted or what I’ve
been training but I feel that mentally I held myself together. (on her first Worlds experience) The first couple of days
were definitely hard but I did enjoy myself out there on the ice. Being surrounded by such incredible athletes and
skaters – Worlds is just a whole other ballpark. It’s incredible seeing such high performances and skills and from all
these different countries too. (on future skating goals) I still have so much more I want to achieve, technically,
performance-wise; there are still so many things I feel I am capable of. I want to get that triple Axel consistent and get
it in both programs. I’m so ecstatic that I have the team and the facility and the opportunities in (Colorado) Springs so
now I can work on quads and not fear for my life. I have a positive outlook for the future!
