2022 Skate America

Does anyone know what I should do Sunday between 4 when I have to get my credentials and 6 when my shift starts? I have free parking in the lot. There’s an event at 5with the food trucks and to meet skaters so maybe I’ll just sit in the lobby?

all this food talk has me hungry 😂 now to find a decent spot for dinner. I’m at the Hampton - anyone have suggestions? May look for a late breakfast before practices tomorrow too (bc I won’t have time sat/sun)
DH and I like Chateau which is right next door. Pasta, seafood, chicken - lots of choices.

"Mac and cheese" is a soup? :ROFLMAO:
At one of the places we get takeout, they claim chili is a soup too.

American cheese is what the rest of the world calls processed cheese slices.
According to Kraft, their product is "Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product" but it's in almost the same color as the background it's printed on, while "American" (technically the flavor of their "Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product") is much bigger and on a big square with a contracting color.

Did anyone encounter any issues bringing in non-RX medicine (e.g., Advil)? The latest info email was still unclear on what medicines beyond marijuana are permitted.

Realized my dinner window is 530-7 tonight. If anyone has ideas closer to arena, I’d love to hear. Thanks!

Has anyone here found a decent coffee/tea place (maybe with breakfast) near arena other than the Starbucks?

No outside food permitted according to the rules. By yesterday, an elderly man was putting a big box of Twinkies through security. And I found out what they didn’t tell me when I asked on Friday, that the beef chili at concessions was GF.
We just wrapped outside food in a sweater, and put protein bars in my mini belt bag. It was such a cursory, obligatory search. So meaningless.

Any thoughts on USFS going with another tiny arena to sellout in two days or a larger venue to allow more skating fans to attend?

It didn’t sell out in two days, I don’t think. I believe there were tickets right up to shortly before individual tickets would’ve gone on sale. It could’ve been when the GP rosters were released.. don’t remember.

But the size of the arena and having the sell-out was far better than being in a huge arena and having people all spread out in cheaper seats IMO.

A picture gallery from Skate America, shot by Jordan Cowan of On Ice Perspectives:

Jordan is known for his videography ... This was one of his first competitions doing still photography. I think he got some great shots! (We may have more to come, too, later.)
