Well, you'll see BoiKo soon, they still made the Olympic team!
Who's the 3rd Pair? I'm assuming Tarasova&Morozov have retired?

I can't believe Moskvina is still bringing on the game. What a legend.
I'd like to see Sui&Han win tbh. But the idea that a Moskvina's Pair could win again is something that could make me cry from joy? :wuzrobbed:D:love:

Take a gander at the entries

T/M just won silver at euros as the first of two teams that day to break s/h’s world record.

I think the SP world record will be broken again during the pairs event, maybe by more than one team. The pairs keep trading that thing around, don't they.

I would rather have had Diana and gleb get the free skate in team dance then Russia having no substitutes for their team event. The gold is in the bag and they had a chance to put in Anna for a piece of gold and T & M for a deserved piece of gold. The fed choked and look very small.

KV does not need to skate the team free. She has 2 more skates coming up in the individual competition.

Why would T/M retire? They are too young for that. They are in their second Olympics.

They are skating beautifully.

S/K are pretty much limping to the finish line. It's not as bad as D/S in 2010 but it's close. It's such a shame it had to happen in the Olympic season.
It really is bad timing. They are the current world champions. They were expected to compete for the gold, against P/C, but now they are in danger of finishing in 3rd or 4th place.

Actually they skated well tonight but it was not enough because Chock/Bates skated very well.

It seems whoever makes a mistake could be left off the podium.

On the bright side katsalapov is now one of the most decorated ice dancers of all time! Three medals two gold! Ending a career with three Olympic medals is good.

We will see if they do the individual event after their extreme dumpage by judges

It sounds silly but if they had chosen a more frenetic upbeat piece almost throughout they could have sold it better given their skills. But watching them at these Olympics you finally realize they're not particularly balletic or etherially artistic to sell the Rach programme. Zhulin just loses his mojo come Olympic season.

I hope SinKats skate well in the individual event and are satisfied with their performances. It's a shame that his injuries have hampered them exactly at this moment, but that's the sport. They have done very well considering and totally earned their Team gold with their two skates.

I do think they can still medal, but they need to skate their absolute best. And agree that Zhulin always going so super conservative in Olympic years is not helping. Having more adventurous programs would boost them when they're skating through injury. I like the music selection for the RD, though. The FD is pleasant, but needs a stronger concept.

I feel like the conversation about S/K gets distorted by people who dislike them talking about them constantly. Like... constantly. It's so weird. They even invade S/K's thread in the Russian fan board and post about them all the time on sports.ru. I've never seen anything quite like it (although in fairness I did take a pretty substantial hiatus from watching skating in the 2000's so maybe it's not as odd as I find it). Of course they're subject to fair criticism, but it feels like some people have never given up their vendetta against them and just push it constantly in this slightly obsessive fashion.

I hope they have great skates and are judged fairly in the personal.

There is no need to go into someone's devoted fan thread and bash them I agree with you. If you don't like them don't visit their page.
I don't think people have anything against them personally. Pretty much everyone can see how often they are over marked and how much political push the get as Russia's number 1. A hundred times more than say S/Bukin, however that has always been the case with Russia's number 1 dance team, they get away with a lot more than most (thinking of Domnina/Shabalin here).
I think the allegation of him being physically abusive towards her and being sent home from the US probably didn't help.

Why is here missing the most important news of this morning ;): Stepanova/Bukin are on their way to Beijing

Russian figure skating champions Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin will fly to Beijing to compete in the 2022 Olympic Games on Tuesday, Alexander Kogan, director general of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FSKKR), told RIA Novosti.

Some People hate all Russia number ones! Even b/s who never ever did well were attacked not only for medals they won at euros but fifth place finishes!! Why would you attack such a loser team that finished fifth at worlds and Olympics? The fact that s/k won a world title just makes the extreme vicious personal hatred stronger

How old are you, 12?

I see an announcement that Stepanova/Bukin said they were flying "tonight" from several hours ago so hopefully we will see something about their arriving soon. Hope this hasn't been too stressful for Bukin especially, man.

T/M are the third team, lol.
European silver medallists and SA champions are the third team? Ridiculous! Only in the haters' minds. Most experts see them (and the other two Russian pairs) as potential gold winners.
