Nothing unusual or out of the norm, just alludes to insults from Krylova regarding her weight. Krylova still makes a note of Hubbells weight even to this day in the press. It just leaves a dancer feeling very vulnerable. Just that...I cannot find a link at this time. But really nothing new.
That has been Krylova's MO for years, she has a tendency to comment on female athletes' weight in the press, she did it to Tessa Virtue back in the day and now it's Maddie's turn. Plus, Hubbell, Hawayek, and Popova all hinted that they struggled with issues related to their weight because of their training environment while Krykova was their coach (though none of them named names they were remarking on their time with Krykova as their coach).

She mentioned Hubbell’s weight again 2 days ago in an interview and said it held them back and that’s why they couldn’t really comfortably stay in from of C/B.

I don't get it, even if that's what she believes. Why wouldn't you say "H&D were my students. All of their basic skating came from my school and now they are fighting for a medal." (and if they don't medal, she can say they would have, if they stayed with me) It's not like she's coaching their direct competitors.

I'm sliding off topic, but can you elaborate or give me a link or a thread title? What was Maddie's exper

Krylova is so obsessed with women's weight. She must remember that women come in all shapes and size. I personally find Maddie, Tessa, Hawayek and Popova very beautiful sexy women. We all don't need to be waifs to be good dancers.

Here is the link, she says they’re amazing bla bla but mentions that her weight is an issue. Ironic as she was no stick insect herself and didn’t fit the tiny usova or grishuk mould.

Which might partially account for the obsession. The abused become abusers.

Yes I’m sure she was hounded by her own coaches. In some parts of the world, it’s totally normal to discuss people’s weight quite bluntly. Cultural norms are very different in many countries compared to the West. Even the Russian interviews are always so open blunt, they don’t do any of the sugar coating, media PR training stuff. The whole world seems to be going through this, in the Us it’s the whole left v right thing, with the left being called ‘woke’ ‘weak snowflakes’ etc etc…

Coming from an African background, bigger women are considered attractive.

I actually wonder what Krylova would say about Kamila Valieva, who seems to get her strength from her extremely muscular lower body.

It is entirely possible that they had a positive test followed by a negative test, and so have dismissed the positive test as a false positive.
Agreed. It happens a lot.

Millions of people have followed the rules and mandates etc. and still caught C. Hopefully the worst of it is over for the Russian coaches and skaters. But there is just no way to know. I was alarmed they all stayed for the Euros gala. That was not necessary in a pandemic just before the olympics.

Different genetics, Trusova is pure muscles while someone like Valieva has really long grasshopper like legs. Krylova would criticize more somone like Tuktamysheva who is not the ideal russian figure skating size or Zagitova who has become Bloated after retiring.

Shed probably praise Medvedeva who has maintained a lean body type
compared to Zagitova. the russian ideal body type is someone like Medvedva or Shcherbakova.

True that.

or Zagitova who has become Bloated after retiring.
You're sad.

no offense, but compare her how she look when she was still skating
its nothing new you can look at others like Aly Raisman, Carly Patterson etc who have that bloated post career..

Its cultural, Medvedva or Shcherbakova is the ideal body type
it could differ in others like in most of Africa, they prefer the plump look as it means she is more fertile, richer and healthier.

Really sad.

Zagitova has matured into a fine young woman. Russians must learn that a stick thin female is not always a good thing. It encourages women to develop eating disorders and evened en anorexia. They seem to have forgotten what happened to Antipova. STOP PUTTING YOUNG WOMEN UNDER PRESSURE TO LOOK A CERTAIN WAY. Another athlete I look at with concern is Khabibullina.
@ Skating Guy: This comment is not directed at you. My apologies.

to be fair, Medvedva or Shcherbakova are just naturally skinny, you cant change genetics
its predetermined like Male Pattern Baldness.

Life isnt fair, some people can eat all they want and still not gain any weight
I have maintained a stringent diet for 10+ years now, I take only liquid (water, avocado, parley juice etc) for brealfast and eat a slice of salmon in dinner. I barely meet my ideal 54 kilos.

No wonder you're so obsessed with young women who gain 5 pounds after adolescence.

I don’t get it she is gorgeous and by no means over weight.

@love_skate2011, you need help very badly, and I hope someday you get it.
119 pounds is not extremely skinny for anyone under 5’5” but extreme diets are not healthy, period. If that’s your natural weight, fine, but taking extreme measures to maintain it will create all sorts of health side-effects.

Obsessing over skaters’ weight is more indicative of the obsessed’ state of mind than the skater’s.

5.5" and is indeed within the acceptable range, only this is a choice and others can do that too.
I keep my old clothes as memory and I'm proud my high school and college clothes still fit comfortably.

Im in my late 20s now but being skinny I get compliments their estimate in the 21-24 age range and sometimes I'm even mistaken for 17 years old. Also the 12 hour intermittent fasting has rid myself of my weakness, eating sweets which has been drastically reduced, this is good as my family tree has history with diabetes.

Um ... I say this as someone who has suffered from eating disorders in the past and still struggle ... get help. If you are only taking in liquid for breakfast you are not starting your day off with the proper nutrients. Better to eat a solid breakfast and eat less for dinner if you want to watch your weight.

Would you:
1. Shut the **** up
2. Get help with your eating disorder
