They didn't give a separate ticket for practices this year. You can read all about it earlier in the thread. But no one knows how we'll get into them so it probably won't help you much.

No more vax/negative test req. (Because transmission rates have dropped in the surrounding area....gee, you don't suppose health protocols for large events might have something to do with that?) It does note that specific event organizers can have their own reqs. I'm hopeful that USFS will require masks like they did at SA. To protect the skaters if nothing else.

This news did not make me happy before going to bed last night.
It's very short sighted. The odds are there will be an increase in CV infections directly as a result of the Thanksgiving/Christmas season, and Nationals follows that immediately.
But Tennessee has a Republican governor who has embraced the live and let die strategy, so it probably shouldn't be unexpected.
I am disappointed the USFS hasn't announced (at least that I know of) any additional safety protocols for the audience. Seeing a coach in kiss and cry wearing a mask doesn't make things safer for me.

Except we are also starting to vaccinate kids. I am not convinced we will have a big surge this winter. Probably just a little one. And now we have a drug that makes getting YKW much less risky so there may be an increase in cases without an increase in hospitalizations and death.
Though I would rather they ask for proof of vaccination/negative tests and not make us wear masks all the time.

The 30% of Americans who refuse to get vaccinated aren't going to get their children vaccinated either. And in red states such as Tennessee the percentage of unvaccinated will be higher.
I hope the arena requires staff to be vaccinated. I'm willing to be optimistic that whoever sits near me will be vaccinated but I'd like to be assured the food workers will be as well.

Last week, a friend contacted USFS and someone wrote back saying that all spectators will be required to wear masks at Nationals. I checked the USFS website and it says that at USFS events, masks will be required, regardless of local guidelines. But I too, am not happy that the vaccination or negative test requirement has been dropped.

I am thrilled to see that the Bridgestone Arena has made this sensible change as a sign of life returning to normal as YKW has been in a steep decline since September. They do review the policy monthly, so I am sure it'll change if warranted. But as noted above, we have recently added to the arsenal the vax for kids and, amazingly, the newly approved pills for treatment from Pfizer. Anyone can optionally choose to protect themselves more than the Arena requires.
Regarding the USFSA or the Nashville LOC, I would appreciate it if someone made an official announcement as to whether they will adopt Nashville policies (even as they may change) or something more stringent, including masking. Or is everyone in figure skating gutless and terrified of making difficult decisions?

There really aren't that many. Many who say they won't end up getting vaccinated. In professions with mandates, you are getting 95% or more vaccinated. In my city, we have 80% of those eligible fully vaccinated.
If you look at a list of the top 10 unvaccinated states, Tennesee isn't in there, btw.
The people who track these things and make the models are all saying the same thing, that children being eligible will dampen down a winter surge.

We all made out okay at Skate America with masking and no vax requirement so hopefully it will be the same at Nats. I’m going to get a booster in December even though I’m not technically eligible (my doctor said I should be because I’m underweight) just to have the extra coverage for traveling.
I was just going to say that there was no vax or testing requirement at SkAm, and that mask compliance was pretty good even without any ushers around for enforcement. The biggest hygiene related issue I observed was how often the women's restroom ran out of soap and/or paper towels during breaks and weren't replenished.
I anticipate that USFS will keep its mask requirement in place and that skaters/coaches will still be in a bubble.

They weren’t in a bubble at Skate America since I saw many skaters/coaches in the stands with fans and at the various restaurants in the casino. I’m thinking they won’t be able to do a bubble in Nashville either.
It may not have been a bubble per se like 2020, but USFS certainly was trying to minimize contact between its skaters and fans -- no meet and greets, barely any skaters on the concourse or at the hospitality suite, skaters appearing virtually at the FOFS, etc.

The Residence Inn has good reviews and was one of the hotels listed on the nationals website, so I'm going to stay there. If you go through the link from the nationals website, you can get the discounted rate of about $199/night. Then they add on the extra taxes and fees, but it's still cheaper than most other hotels and looks so close to the arena.

They also had a separate walkway to the arena, on the backside of the pool. In 2019 they walked the same outdoor path as all the plebeians.
I hope you're right, but the Washington Post website shows a vaccination rate of just 54% for the 12-17 age cohort. (I can't find equivalent data on the CDC website.) I look at those numbers almost every day, and that one is barely moving at the moment. If anything, I'd expect parents to be a bit more hesitant about vaccinating younger children.
I see a lot of posts mentioning lack of reasonable hotel options near the arena. I have some left over rooms available at both the Renaissance Nashville and the Holiday Inn Express from a group that I was organizing if anyone is interested. Rate for the Renaissance Nashville (one of the closest hotels to the arena) is $241 (plus taxes) per night and the rate for the Holiday Inn Express (less than 1/2 mile from the arena) is $125 (plus taxes) per night for up to 2 people and includes breakfast. Supply is limited and these rates are only guaranteed until November 20. Cancellation policy is excellent at 72 hours prior. Please reach out if you are interested.
Skate America had far fewer fans than Nationals will though. I'm disappointed in the change. It was one reason I felt OK going. Now I'm on the fence (but of course already bought some of my tickets

We did go in and make a reservation outside the block but I'd much rather get the discount rate. I wonder if they'd do it if I call (but my experience in the past has been that many hotels won't).
But nothing was done to prevent fans waiting at the entrance asking for pictures and autographs. Skaters were too nice to turn down the requests, so more fans would wait at the entrance everyday
There were also skaters came to meet with fans.
Quite some spectators didn’t wear their masks properly, and there was no one saying anything about it.
I was worried about skaters during my stay there.

Rates at Drury Plaza are comparable to Residence Inn (or maybe lower) if you book on their website and use promo code ESCAPE. Breakfast and Happy Hour with food and alcoholic beverages are included in the rate.

You can easily manage your tickets without the app. Click the “Manage Tickets” link in your Predators email order confirmation. That will give you the opportunity to log into your Ticketmaster account. From there you can transfer the tickets to your Wallet without problem.Finally booked my flight. I have my confirmation number for buying the Championship Weekend tickets, but nothing else. They are not in my Ticketmaster app either. How do I find out if I will actually have the tickets I purchased>

If you contact the box office/arena sales, I'm sure they can send you another email.
I had the same problem. No confirmation letter and Ticketmaster had no record of my purchase. Bought my tickets through the FOFS presale and to access them you need to download the NHL app and then hit the Predators link. The tickets will pop up and you can use your Ticketmaster password to access them to download on your mobile device.
Found all of this out by emailing Bridgestone Arena box office and receiving a response from Logan VanSickle ([email protected]). He was patient and sent explicit instructions.

I think I may have made a typo in my email address, which of course means I can’t get back in I’ll try to call them this week but I’ve left a message on the voicemail and I’ve sent an email and the response has been crickets. It’s probably too late to dispute the charge
