Unpopular Opinions

I don't like Madison Hubbell. I don't even know why??? I see her on TV and every single time think "ugh, I just don't like that girl". Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I'm sure she's a perfectly fine human. I just don't like her. :scream::yikes:(I don't even obsessively follow ice dance)

I'm the same! Also, this is NOT a knock on her size, as she has a fantastic figure, however I find that she skates 'heavy' for lack of a better term. (I also don't like her beige skates. They just seem 'wrong' for ice dance to me)
Speaking of US ice dance, I feel like they need to put Evan Bates in like neon green and orange plaid for every program, otherwise it's like he doesn't exist next to Madison Chock.
And another (mainly) ice dance thing - I love when the female's dress looks like she just came from a cocktail party. Like it's a 'real' dress.

I just watched the 1991 worlds FD - Duschenays and K&P. I didn't like the Duschenay' FD at all. I think K&P should have won the title (not sure why K/P were in third place, entering the FD though).

I don't understand why people obsess so much over ladies' costumes, but men can wear the most boring, ugly and basic training clothes and hardly anyone cares. I also hate Vera Wang.
Men often look like they just left their shift at Banana Republic.
Sometimes sleek or casual looking costumes can be nice and work well with the program (like Javier Fernandez's 'Guys and Dolls'). But other times, just don't work, especially when that's ALL they wear. Like wearing a long sleeved yellow shirt and plain black pants and thinking that fits Elton John, then wearing basically that same shirt in grey 2 years later for a completely different style of program.

While we're at it ... I generally have no problem with cover music, including emo cover music. (I mean, most of jazz is cover music, and so is most of classical. So where do we get this concept that pop/rock songs shouldn't be covered?)

I'll go further and say that I generally like most music. There are no genres or artists that I'm opposed to, in principle.

I also like the majority of skating programs.

Can I just chime in and say that if my daughter were a figure skater, she would have all her dresses made by whomever the genius dressmaker is who does the Korean ladies' dresses? Every Korean girl looks amazing out there. It kind of surprises me why the Russians don't try to keep up with them in that regard. The junior girls are standouts already due to their skating, but then they also present themselves like a million bucks. I love to see it! Go Korea!!

They do look glamorous and super polished, but, to me, they all sort of look the same. As if they all are just variations of the same dresses modeled after Yuna Kim's line. I don't think I've truly ever remembered a non-Yuna Kim Korean dress. The Russians can sometimes look like messes, like Sotnikova's Olympic dress, but I actually remember them, most of the time.
