Unpopular Opinions

And finally, I'm absolutely furious how Dalilah Sappenfield protected some of her skaters (especially John Coughlin) and allowed so many other skaters to be abused. I say this having had friends in pairs, where I heard for years about how she'd manipulate and switch partnerships around not just for medals but to support her favorites and her own personal desires regardless of who got hurt. I hope she gets nailed to the max in the legal system.
I don't have high hopes for justice from the legal system on this one, so I'll settle for a healthy dose of karma.

I HATE the whole pewter medal thing. Why not a add tin medal for 5th, then nickel for 6th, copper for 7th, zinc for 8th, aluminium for 9th... I think it's ridiculous - 4th place is not a podium finish, and not a medallist!
Maybe they should introduce a 'Latinum' Medal, ahead of the Gold Medal.

Sincerely, Jerry Denton, certified Trekkie. Or, just 'Certified'.

I agree, pewter medal is a bit strange, especially with a three-podium finish. It's like here you go, but we're not giving it to you in front of everyone. Good job!

Pewter medal was always given in the US because of regionals and sectionals advancing the top 4 qualifiers. They just kept consistency for Nationals, but now that they've moved into the Championship Series format, they could probably do away with it.

She didn't ask my opinion, and she's at that age where you're supposed to do crazy things with your hair, but I don't love the red hair on Alexandra Trusova. Maybe if it was a more natural-looking shade? (though today it did seem to be toned down compared to how it was previously)

I hate when pairs/dance team outfits seem completely independent of each other. They don't need to be twins, but there should be at some relationship between the costumes. I also dislike when the girl is all done up to the 9s, and the guy is just wearing plain black pants and a t-shirt.

I love when someone aesthetically commits to the theme of their program. Like Paul Poirier's 70s pornstache for their disco dance, or Nikolaj Sorensen's earring for their George Michael dance. Or, I forget her name, but the girl who smeared her red lipstick across her face at the end of her (I believe?) vampire themed program

I just got here on page 9. I was actually thinking about this watching the ladies short programs today. Has anyone mentioned getting rid of the Biellmann spin? It used to be special (20 years ago?). Now everybody ends with it. Go back to the classic layback spin with a lot of rotations and a perfectly turned free leg, no change of arms or position.
