She's never been my cup of tea, but she won me over with "Frida" and "Cruella" and her dogs, of course.

I love her fearlessness. If we were in "Harry Potter"-universe and the Hat, she'd be my first choice to be in Gryffindor and the seeker on the Quidditch team. So much grit, so much fire and so much love for doggos.

So, this season I am all for Sasha Trusova!

She's on my radar this year but dhe doesn't have the skills for Frida but the LP she is completely in her element. Maybe I will think differently if she skates it clean.
 
TSL just posted a vid of Sasha’s 3axels in practice in Norwood, including 3ax-2toe combo...with Izzo’s Piaf music in the background. Also posted her LP practice with multiple quads. marked a small section but mainly skated full-steam.

I know! I hope she is using this September success to make a statement and then back the heck off so she can peak at the Olympics.
 
On to tomorrow’s free skate to CRUELLA at the US Classic! Sasha’s in first after her FRIDA SP but surely a bit disappointed about the 3ax fall, despite landing it many times in practice. No worries; it will come.

What matters now: Let’s cheer our redheaded heroine to victory tomorrow!

Huh? Sorry to hear that. I’m wondering what’s up.

I have the 6pm Dance finals icon up...and the Women’s icon is lined-up next on the Watchlist. (Smart TV method) Now I don’t dare get out to watch news on a TV channel, in case I can’t get back into the Peacock watchlist.
 
Finally watched Sasha's free skate on you tube. It is a learning process. She got the experience skating this program in front of international judges, in the USA. The marks were enough to win this competition and she can be proud of it even though she made many mistakes. She can learn from this. I look forward to seeing the improved version of this program at SA. One step at a time, toward the final goal.

We didn't see her strongest performance this week. So I guess that is good news. I'm sure her coaches are working toward her peaking at Nationals and the Olympics in helping her get all the training necessary physically as well as emotionally (psych).

She's likely learning to compete with quads (arms over he head!!!) in various environments/situations and learning to cope with all the attention and expectations due to the quad capabilities. That all adds pressure that I can't imagine having.

I like her hair. She looks more mature. She looks taller. She stands out in a crowd. Her dress is modern design and matches the music. I don't like the choice of music but do like something intense since she seems to have skated to intense music in the past.

Added: and my hope that she lands everything and cleanly at the Olympics and beats the socks off everyone else is partly selfish. I want to see a female do more quads than most males!

It's a fun hairstyle, but it would get in her face when she's trying to land quads ,so it's a no for me.

She's seriously channeling Marina Anissina for me right now, such a diva . I'm usually never interested in the ladies discipline, but I am totally pulling for her this year.
 
Sending good vibes to Sasha, skating at RussiaCup 1 in Syzran...Frida SP tomorrow & Cruella on Friday! Her main elite competitor is Liza Tuk.

Can Sasha land a clean 3-axel in competition?
 
Sasha withdrew after winning the SP in Syzran. No reason given. The Skate-order list for tomorrow’s FS appeared without Sasha’s name; Liza Tuk’s name has “1” as her placement in the SP.

The great news: She was not injured at the time that she received her scores, in KnC, with Dani G beside her (the one coach with her from the Team). Sasha appears to be fine after having won the SP, in other words. No injury after that has been reported.

Any update on Sasha’s training? Still planning on appearing at Skate America? Just 2.5 weeks to go!
 
The biggest question will be can Trusova land a triple axel ?

nobody cares now about her quads, people are now focusing on her shortcomings, can she finally land a triple axel ?

Trusova's career might be defined if she can land a triple axel or not ?, It must be torture for her mind to have NEVER landed a triple axel in an actual competition until now. Practice jumps are irrelevant as I dismiss it as a fluke, this is like Kihira jumping those quad salchows in practices.
